What is the most interesting build you've ever came up with or done on your own, or what is the most recent build you've completed? (Pics please!)

These past few years, the more I've studied and understand ballistics, the more I'm leaning towards longer-barreled pistols...especially the in lighter calibers. As a result, I decided to go with a longer barreled Glock 19. Most people will buy a Glock 17 and chop the grip to accept Glock 19 magazines, and simply live with the 'chopped' look of their pistol...unless they send it out to have it professionally done.
I took a different approach and this is the result of my most recent build, a Gen 2 Glock 19 frame mated with a Brownell's Glock 17-length slide and 4.5" barrel, cut to fit the Glock 19 frame, resulting in a Glock 19 'extended' pistol...it's a nice shooter and is very accurate at distances of 21' to 35'.
The frame has a mild heel-reduction (reduced by 3/32") to better fit my smaller hands, the Gen 2 little 'grip-enhancement bumps' were heat-melted and smoothed, using a flat-tipped soldering tool, to blend with the rest of the frame, reducing the overall diameter of the grip by about 1/8".
The front and back straps were then sanded smooth and 'rounded' slighly to better blend with the rest of the grip, and then a mild tree bark stippling applied.
I also rounded the trigger guard and did a mild undercut of the trigger guard, just rounding off the edge where my knuckle rubbed while shooting.
I have about 4.5 hours in the grip work...but it fits my hand nearly perfectly and that's what I wanted.
It sports an Ameriglo (green tritium with orange day-ring) front sight and black Hackathorne rear sight, for improved sight acquisition, and shoots to point-of-aim at 21' very accurately!

    Last 2 I finished up.

Ar9 with 8.5" barrel. Colt mag using a Guntec magwell adapter. Been good so far

16" 556 NOS Bushmaster chrome lined barrel. Went for a retro yet modern stormtrooper look. Shoots sweet

Like that Storm Trooper look...liking that A1 sight system as well...definitely an 'old-skool' look! Sweet!
For 9mm...I picked up a 8.5" Banshee 200 Series 9mm...lovin' it so far so good!

I started my first ar build with a 450 bushmaster upper, LEUPOLD scope, rail, & a mag for $812 with shipping. Indy 1500 was cancelled in march, but was able to hit local gun show and get lower, drop in trigger & a stock for around $250.

The most interesting build I've ever done, also happens to be the one of the most recent ones I've finished, yet the one I've wanted to do for the longest... A No4 Mk 1 Lee Enfield. I had one maybe 30 years back or so, and I loved it, but times were tough, and ended up selling it. It had been sporterized, and had a scope on it, so it was no collector, but I never really cared about such things. It shot pretty well for one, but what got me was the overall design. The bolt throw was a short 60* so it didn't hit the scope. Rare in an old milsurp rifle. It also had a very short, fast, smooth stroke thanks to the rear locking lugs, and had a 10 round magazine. That made it twice the rifle of any other milsurp. Once I had read about the scout rifle concept, I immediately thought of my old Lee Enfield, and promised myself I'd pick one up one day to build as one.

Fast forward to 2019, and I found me a pretty decent Longbranch. Had holes in the receiver from an old scope mount, but was in good shape, so I bought it. Barrel shortened to 18", custom scope mount by my gunsmith, front sight moved back, buttstock replaced with one from Boyd's, then the original brass buttplate reshaped to fit, fore wood shortened on bottom, as was the top front piece, and the top rear piece relieved for the scope mount, then everything refinished to match, leftover ammo cuff from an old lever gun, and a sling from online to finish it off. I mounted my Leupold scout scope, and hit the range. I was happy. However, a scope still has scope shadow if you don't get your face just right behind it, and while training with it I soon learned of the limitations of the scout concept. In it's defense, I was doing defensive type training, with a scouting/hunting type set up.

Then, while at a gun show, selling raffle tickets for my VFW, I saw a guy walking around packing a M1A SOCOM with a red dot, and the light bulb went on. I had both a Spanish Mauser, and a Rossi 92 with Sig Romeo 5s on them at home just like that already. I could have made the Lee Enfield into a battle rifle rather than a scout rifle. So... I got home, stole the Sig off the Mauser (it will get the scout scope) and slapped it on the Enfield... BOOM, modernized, 10 round capacity, bolt action, battle rifle.

This is a gun I've wanted for years, and now that it's done, I love it.

I also love the Rossi. It's one of the most fun guns to shoot I own. In fact, these two are almost identical in size, and it holds 10 rounds as well. Bonus... it has a light, something the Lee Enfield does not. Probably my second most interesting build.

This Lee Enfield has gotten a lot of attention whenever people have seen it. Most has been good, but the purists, and collectors have given me grief, and called me bubba. Screw them... I'm not a collector. This already had holes in the receiver, and it won't be just sitting in a safe. I don't even have my .308 anymore, so this is it... my .308 (ish) battle rifle.

Yes, I know the sling is on wrong in this photo. The experts on the Lee Enfield pages informed me, and it has been corrected. They did like me keeping the original lines of the gun... Well, most of them did.

Sometimes, making something work better, or simply fit you better, matters!

This was the 1st major modification I did. It was a BNIB Springer RO. I had started a relationship with AllenM and we were looking at doing something unique at that time. This gun went through several stages until it ended here.

The external Mods are apparent. The underside of the slide was lightened extensively. There is nothing left that has not been touched/modified. This is a .45ACP that shoots like a 9mm. And is a steel killer. It really fits no class in a comp gun but I built it just to have it.

    This is my favorite.
Ground up 6" slide in 10mm and man it is fun to run.
It serves no serious purpose beyond emoting smiles from anyone that runs it. Another AllenM collaboration.

Here's the most recent. Started out as a stock G45 with the plastic sights. Replaced the sights with a Vortex Viper mounted on a Dueck Defense RBU dovetail mount. Installed an Apex Tactical enhanced trigger, Arc9 threaded barrel and an Arc Division Spark-M Gen5 comp. I think I'm done....
