I'm trying to figure out the best way of attaching a trigger guard to a receiver on an old AK .

I can attach the rear of the guard directly to the receiver . I'm planning on attaching the front of the guard to the rear of the mag release .

I don't have either so this will be a learning experience . Which way is easier for a noob ?

This jig is used on flats right ?

Maybe I need to clarify , I'm converting a Norinco Hunter into a more standard AK . For the most part the gun is still together , about 98% .

What I did is drilled out the old rivets so I can move the guard forward where it would be on an AK . Now the problem is how to re-attach it .

Brazing would be easier, but neither one would be easy for a first timer. I would suggest finding someone to do it for you...
