So my best deal I guess was my xd from cabelas in hammond. They had mine tagged at 599 (night sights) and thats what I put it on layaway at. Next day I'm reading the flier thing and it had xd 9s and 40s (non-night sights) for 489.99. So I got a price match because the lady didnt know the difference, and I basically got cabelas for a free pair of night sights. :rockwoot:

I also got the guy at the gun show this weekend for 5 bucks off my p22 which was the lowest priced there anyway.

Now if they charge , say, $200 for nite sites I would say he got a pretty good deal. One of my best deals was finding a S+W Model 24 at the 1500 for $200. When I asked to look at it the guy said I could have it for $180.

My best deal was at a shop in Terre Haute. A College student needed cash and had to sell his S&W 629 .44 Mag ported (I think it is 8"). I'm trying to remember if it was at a gun shop or pawn shop. But it was back when CCW got you out the door with no paperwork. I don't remember the exact about, but it was under $300. Couldn't tell it from brand new. Shoots great. Nice pistol.

I bought a 10/22 from a pawnshop in bloomington. It was in overall in nice condition, and came with a scope. $150

Got home and google'd the scope, it is a Weatherby Mark XXII. It's worth about $300-400. actually for sale if anybody wants it.

Traded a dealer at the 1500:

    Gen 2 G23 with self-done grip stipple and 3 mags and a
SW1911 with 2 mags (grand total of $850 I had in them)

    for a

RRA Custom-Built AR15 M3 chambered 5.56, heavy barrel, custom flash hider, OD green furniture, YHM BUIS, 3 new mags (orange follower) and a carry case. About $1400 value.

    :rockwoot:

Wish I still had the RRA, just had to sell it due to financial trouble...

The best thing Ive come across is three instances...

-Old dirty (but 80-90% collectors grade) rifle sitting in the corner of the pawn shop. Been there for 3 months or so. No one wanted it. Found out it was a turkish mauser. $100 tax included later, I walked out the door.
-About a week later - same pawn shop - another old dusty rifle from the back room had been brought out. Another Turkish Mauser. No one wanted her. Hoo haaahd for about a half hour with the owner of the pawn shop, and again the $100 deal.
-Was at the 1500. Saw a Yugo sks in a block of bees wax/cosmolene. Asked the guy how much? Told me $200 and that he didn't want to take it home. No one wanted it because of all the cosmolene on it. I told him Id give him $150 for it.
    SOLD! And home I went.

    Rose tuition is a b*tch!

My best deal so far has been my G34 for $489. Went in to the shop to buy a good used 3rd gen G17, if they didn't have any I was going to buy a new G17. I really wanted a G34, but couldn't spring the extra $100 at the time so I was going to settle on a G17. There just so happened to be a like new (had to be less than 200 rounds through it) G34 sitting in the case. It came with everything that a new one does, but for $100 less. It was fate I tell ya...

How much are those actually worth? A quick google seems to indicate you overpaid.

A barely fired 7-1/2" Ruger Blackhawk .357 Maximum for $300 last year. It is a collectors gun as they only made it for about 3 years in the early 80's and there is a standing recall on them. If you send a .357Max BH back to Ruger, you will never get it back. They routinely go for around $800.

Also got a Webley MkVI for $125. They usually go for north of $400.

My dad got a Magnaport modified Ruger Super Blackhawk .44mag called the "Predator". The build list included was over $800 in mods alone, not including the price of the base gun. He got it for something like $400. It is beautiful and shoots like a dream.

All were bought through an estate sale.

Century was selling some Yugo 24/47 mauser parts guns for $50 to my door. When I called them up they only had 3 left. So I bought all 3. When they came in, they weren't missing a thing. Even had the front sight hood on them. I picked the best and sold the other 2. The guns were in almost exellent condition.

Got two model 15 S&W's back in the mid-90's at a gunshop in Tucson, AZ. Both marked "Sacramento DA" on them, one 2", one 4". Neither had been shot! $150 each. This was back when all the cops were trading off revolvers for hi-cap autos.

Iver-Johnson M1 Carbine with a soft case off a friend who needed quick cash.... $120
