    Now, let's not be hasty.

I was stabbed in the leg with a pencil in grade school.
I still have the piece of the graphite in my leg under the skin.

Not a day goes by that I don't have a limp because of it, it's worse when it rains.
    ;)

This makes me so mad, I just want to stab someone with a pen.

The pen(is) is mightier than the sword?

I was stabbed in the top of my shoulder in grade school with a pencil, the kid jammed it about an inch in. The school nurse pulled it out and called my mom. To this day I have a small scar with a hint of gray to it.

What about using a belt to strangle someone? Ban belts.

What about pens? Aren't they mightier than swords, therefore more dangerous? Ban pens.

Wait, people use their brains to think of ways to harm others. Ban brains.

My daughter once asked me why there were so many stupid people. Teachers like this help keep stupid going as they teach it as being acceptable. Thankfully stupid people are providing my daughter with a great future as she is a Neuroscientist!

It is a shame that not only are brain dead people trying to rule the world, but there are some that hide under the banner of teacher.

I got it, ban stupid teachers and help improve the education system by retaining those who not only are smart, but have common sense and know how to use it.

Don't forget that "words can hurt more than fists". Better ban words from the classroom.

Gone are the days when you could light a magnesium strip in Chem Lab. I asked what would happened and the teacher told me to try it (of course we had all our safety gear on). Scared the *#$&$ out of me.

When I was in middle school it was ok to have a little pocket knife in art class to sharpen your pencils. And it was not even ten years ago.
So they dont trust kids with pencils (not even talking about knives) but as soon as they turn 18 they can legally carry a handgun?

17 years old: "Put that pencil away its too dangerous for you"
18 years old:" Be careful with your 100% legal semi-automatic"

I still have lead in the palm of my hand from a pencil wound....

Sounds like a teacher was having discipline problems in the classroom, involving pens as "weapons", and then over-reacted. The school system handled it pretty quickly.

    School retracts ban on pencils

    Possible reason behind the note:
Police Chief Aram Thomasian Jr. said he was approached Friday by parents of one student who had been suspended for having a pen that had been altered to fire a rolled-up piece of paper.
