Thumbs up Why Ron Paul can beat Obama: He converts Democrats on war & civil liberty

The key to uniting Republicans & Democrats is to embrace Liberty. Both parties have enough in common with libertarian beliefs, that somebody like Ron Paul could unite non-statist voters and create a victory over Establishmentarian President, Barack Obama.

Ron Paul is inspiring Democrats to switch their party for one election! They want Obama defeated, and not to be replaced with another Establishment-backed president who will do the same things (that we all should oppose):
    1) conduct wars against countries that did not threaten us (e.g. Iraq, Libya)
    2) oversee large financial benefits to companies with which those in his administration were close (e.g. Halliburton, Goldman Sachs),
    3) establish a legal framework for riding roughshod over the liberties of private individuals who are not suspected of crime (e.g. Patriot Act),
    4) establish a massive federal apparatus to carry out such intrusions on innocent Americans in what is becoming a police state (e.g. domestic wiretapping, TSA etc... )
I'm telling you guys, focusing on the undeniable hypocrisy of Warlord Obama is they key to his defeat. You can debate economics all day long with ignorant people and not get anywhere. However, you can illuminate the pro-war agenda of Obama in five minutes for anybody. You can show his expansion of DHS, TSA, wiretapping, unlimited detentions, on and on. You can easily display the costs of war and the toll on our freedom.

If you want to defeat Obama, don't send another war-waging candidate to compete against him. Obama won because he acted like he was going to end the wars. That message still resounds with people, even though Obama failed to deliver. Give the voters a real choice on foreign policy and domestic liberty -- and Obama will be beaten.

Paul may not win the nomination but he should at least being taken more seriously this time. that said, Paul probably has at least the same chance of beating Obama in a general election as any of the other candidates.

Obama's record is putrid. He's broken every one of his campaign promises.

-End the war in Iraq: 2 1/2 year later nope, and he expanded the war in Afghanistan, bombed Yemen, and is engaged "kinetic military operation" in Libya

-Repeal the Patriot Act: He extended it shortly after taking office. His civil liberties record is terrible. The TSA is running amok under his leadership, and is establishing a police state outside of airports as we speak. Let's not forget his comment about a "civilian national defense force, just as strong, just as well funded as the US Armed Forces.

-Restore the economy: The economy still stinks and unemployment is at over 9% by their own admission (I know, its higher). The banker bailout failed, cash for clunkers failed, and his unconstitutional healthcare law is going to fail.

-Most transparent administration over: Haha, one only needs to look at what is going on with his Attorney General regarding "Fast and Furious." His former Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel said the you never let a good crisis go to waste. Well it looks like that Obama and Holder created a crisis to attack the 2nd Amendment.

BO is a POS. I don't know why self-proclaimed liberals support him. Ron Paul is a REAL civil libertarian who will reign in Federal Bureaucracies and he will actually reduce the size of the Federal Government, unlike his so-called conservative competitors.

    Polls determine seriousness.

So which poll shows Paul being taken more seriously?

Does not the Society for Better Ear Hair Removal have more members than Paul has voters? Or, is the worm turning?

As much as I like Ron, he has to get the Republican nomination in order to beat Obama and he will NEVER get that nomination. Republicans will never select him as their candidate.
