By now, most of you have probably seen this video that was made of children harassing the 60 year old school bus monitor:

Making The Bus Monitor Cry - YouTube!

There have been a number of takes on the matter, but here is one from that “dreadful Glenn Beck” that I found very much on point:

SHOCKING: Woman bullied to tears by children on schoolbus – Glenn Beck

From the text of the summary:
“Glenn said that these kids have gotten to the point where they don’t even see other people as people. They can’t look beyond themselves, and compared that mindset to Americans who turned a blind eye when the Japanese were sent to camps during World War 2 or the Germans sent the Jews to concentration camps. This, Glenn said, is how those kinds of atrocities start to happen – when people stop having empathy and kindness and instead are filled with selfishness and hatred.”

While a good number of sheep have convinced themselves that internment camps and the atrocities of an out of control state could never happen here, it is worth noting the seeds that are being planted.

All I wanted to do is freaking take those kids and make them work for a living. If they were my kids they would be grounded for years.

It's much easier to join them than to beat them these days. All too often standing up and doing the right thing gets rewarded with punishment. Doesn't make it right, just makes it real.

If a kid on that bus would have stood up for that lady and a fight broke out you can bet yer behind both kids would have been suspended or expelled. Common sense is dead.

I agree that the seeds of such conduct have been planted, but at present the "State" still has the impediment of an armed populace to deal with. Not everyone is a "sheep", and I think it's more likely the social pendulum will swing back toward social responsibility before things descend into violent anarchy.

Have these kids been identified so their parents are aware of their behavior?

Will the state allow the parents to deal with it? Or, will CPS be called when disciplining that is needed is seen as excessive to the powers that be? Do the parents even care?

This nation has changed over the years, and there will be nothing but more of this to report in the news.

This is the unfortunate legacy of people in authority who suffer from a mineral deficiency.

Yes they have, I believe at least one man was very disturbed by what his kid said, a lot of the others offered lame excuses andone thought their child has "suffered enough from it all".

I'd have gotten the strap for something like that, and I'm glad it was that way.

From what i have heard, all of the kids have "apologized". Although from what I have also heard, its more the Im sorry that I got caught, not im sorry for what I did. As the OP stated, its been going for awhile where people have gotten the idea that everything is about them, and to make them feel good, dont care about anyone else. Its a ME FIRST society and everyone gets a prize, no matter how good or bad they do. When most aren't being punished, they see what they can get away with, further and further. We need to start punishing kids early, teach them respect for the rules, and the law, as well as elderly. Maybe its because parents assume that society will teach their kids everything that it has been sliding downhill.
