We recently saw the TSA's presence at Paul Ryan's speeches and at the RNC. Now, predictably we are seeing the TSA being rolled out to the Democratic National Convention and related events.

Airport officials will increase security during DNC

According to this article: "The TSA said another 55 other officers will help the Secret Service with screening at Time Warner Cable Arena, the Convention Center and Bank of America stadium."

The TSA was never intended to be limited to airports. The War on Terror is intentionally designed to create a domestic police state. The "New Normal" is to have Federal agents searching your pockets, patting you down, emptying your bags, sniffing you with dogs, and doing other violating things, at any sort of public event.

Only if you are foolish enough to attend, or fly, or go to a Colts game, or the U. S. Nationals....:n00b:
Someone on another post gave up his freedom for a fried doughnut at a festival.:patriot:

I find it funny that someone has to show legal ID 10 times before they can get to the convention floor....

:+1: Such a pathetic time to run out of rep! It does make you wonder why they think a person should have to show ID repetitively to listen to the pinheads but not to vote for them.

And you also have to show ID to buy stuff there, since it is a campaign contribution you have to be a US Citizen. I wonder if there are any guests from California or some such that issue ID's to illegal immigrantsw. It'd be interesting to see a vid of one buying something from a vendor and then confessing the illegal contribution afterwards...

It's their convention, why cannot they set the rules?

Considering it's a selection process for governmental offices, I'm not so sure it's that cut and dry.

It all starts with property rights.
See above. Aside from who actually owns the venues (vs. sponsors them), the delegates have a right to be there...

Setting that aside, TSA is paid for (in theory) by large taxes levied on airline flights.

Will the SS be billed to reimburse the TSA for the costs?

Not to mention it isn't in the TSA's charter...

    Not a good thing IMO.

Rights. In the homeland YOU don't have any.

No they don't. Do I have a right to be at your house? They are just invitees.

The property owner is the leasee, the DNC. It is their property and they get to call the shots.

Really now, INGO is so sanctimonious about property rights and how sacred they are. Well, here's a property owner exercising their rights. And the problem is?:dunno:

    It's all about property rights.

Federal agents don't enforce rules of private clubs.

There happens to be a document which limits what they may do to, ever.

Additionally, it would be fantastic if taxpayers weren't forced to subsidize their security screenings.

This exactly. If they wanted draconian security, they should have hired a private security firm.
