With all the actual drunk drivers out there, it's amazing anyone would feel the need to make up a DUI arrest, let alone 40 of them.

Ah, but she took the targets of opportunity and even those whose charges were dismissed still had to pay thousands to get their cars out of impound.

    Stunning if true.

We see why some of the police fight video so hard. I got in my big brewhaha with the West Lafayette police over this issue.

Expand Indiana Rule of Evidence 617 and nonsense like this will cease.

This is why I've always heard you should not submit to a roadside breathalyzer test if you know you haven't been drinking, or you know you may have only a very slight amount of alcohol in your body. Breathalyzers can be highly inaccurate and also results can be faked.

It's sucks, but if this happened to me, I'd insist on a certified blood draw by a non-biased professional (the way it should be done).

It is my understanding that if you refuse a breathylizer, your license is automatically suspended. Would that still hold true if you refuse the breathylizer and demand to be taken immediately for a certified blood draw?

Steed was named Utah Highway Patrol's "Trooper of the Year" in 2007 for making more than 200 DUI arrests, a reward that Studebaker says should be taken away from her.

The "average" worker works 250 days a year (assuming 2 weeks of vacation and no overtime)...This officer, on a very rough average, made a DUI arrest 4 out of 5 days/week of work. I wonder how many DUI arrest an average respectable officer makes per year.

According to Implied Consent you are supposed to submit to the test you are offered, you don't get to choose which test you wsnt to submit to.

I don't know if I qualify as respectable but I make ~5 DUI arrests a year. I pass a lot more than that off to DUI unit officers.

So if I have the good fortune of being pulled over by an officer like in the OP, I'm screwed?
