    I don't see any reason for flames; seems like a program whose time has come, and being developed by the NRA, unlikely to contain anti-gun propaganda. What's not to like (other than it being voluntary for schools rather than mandatory)?

    No reason for flames in this forum. This is the NRA Eddie Eagle program, which is very appropriate for young children. As I understand it, that does not involve actually firing a gun, but instead learning how to be safe if a child sees a gun. The picture of a youngster holding a rifle in the article is very misleading.
