He's the GOP version of Barack Obama...only with 2x the narcissism.

I agree. He's my very least favorite of the remaining GOP candidates. But I think he would still be a world of improvement over Obamination. And if it comes down to a choice between Trump and Hillary, well IMHO that's not even a choice. In that scenario, I would still vote for him as much as I don't like him.

That's pretty much where I am with this.

I just can't believe that anyone thinks Trump has any core values beyond "Do what makes Trump happy."

    It's whatever OP is speaking.

It is pretty much what I imagined a Trump supporter to sound like.

In my mind, I'm having a hard time getting there. I almost didn't vote for McCain, I was going to sit that one out that year until I saw what Obama was and it looked like he might actually win. In retrospect, a McCain win would have only forestalled any awakening Americans may have achieved in the last 7 years. They say you have to hit rock bottom before you're really willing to seek change. When folks like Carson, Rand, and Cruz announced, I was hopeful maybe we had gotten close enough and would nominate somebody that had at least read or had an ounce of fealty to the Constitution. But it appears we need to hit bottom a little harder.

    Is that really possible.

Just remember, no matter how bad it gets, it can always get worse. :D

Which is why you don't cede the presidency to the person we all seem to agree is the worst in the vain hope of "waking up" some anonymous group that will, all-of-a-sudden, start caring and voting for the "right" people.

If all we can do is slow the evitable slide into socialism, we need to slow the slide.

I'm not quite ready to draw a line in the sand yet. But depending on the rhetoric of the current news cycle, there are days (like after this past debate) where I do not relish the thought of contributing to the election of Trump. Then, when I read a comment from Bernie (in another thread) where he wants to outlaw all guns except for "those used for hunting", I think I can spot that very thin separation, that ray of daylight between Trump and the two democrats, that might allow me to vote for him.
