A Friday afternoon document dump from Fast and Furious AND Benghazi? Even for this bunch that's raising the BS bar.

Department of Justice Enters Into Conditional Settlement Agreement to Produce Fast and Furious Documents to House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
    https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/depa...-agreement-produce-fast-and-furious-documents

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    Wednesday, March 7, 2018

Today, the Department of Justice entered into a conditional settlement agreement with the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and will begin to produce additional documents related to Operation Fast and Furious. The conditional settlement agreement, filed in federal court in Washington D.C., would end six years of litigation arising out of the previous administration’s refusal to produce documents requested by the Committee.

In announcing the settlement, Attorney General Sessions said:

“The Department of Justice under my watch is committed to transparency and the rule of law. This settlement agreement is an important step to make sure that the public finally receives all the facts related to Operation Fast and Furious.”

Perhaps a ridiculous question, but why does it take six years to get to only a first step in the process. At this rate it will be decades before it is announced that no one was to blame.

Just like every covert government operation, it wants to wait until everyone to blame is dead and quietly release the papers in the middle of the night.

I heard a tease on the news this morning saying the Trump justice department is going to re-open the investigation into "Fast and Furious".
    We can only hope...

Because the federal government is corrupted and rotted to its very core and needs to be abolished.

Funny how the announcements that the documents were released don't include links to the documents themselves. The DOJ is apparently going to make us mere citizens file a FOI request and pay to see them. It's Casablanca all over again.

"I am shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here"
    "Your winnings sir."
"Oh thank you very much. Everybody out at once."

    Nothing to see here.
