First, Wikilinks tweeted the following image of a post from R/TheDonald.

Deep discussion with cited examples off idiosyncratic language, possible coding?

I don't know what to think.
I hate to jump to conclusions but something definitely seems . . . off . . . in the tone of some of those messages.

Lest we forget, this criminally underreported story:

I don't even know what to think. A lot of it seems like normal talk, but then there up pops some oddity that can either be attributed to a very coincidental grammatical error or shifts the entire meaning to something more sinister.

It's the amount of repetition that makes me think something is up. One or two odd sounding sentences can be passed off, but there's a lot of strangeness in those email chains.

For note, "cheese pizza" is a rather common code term for child pornography on TOR websites where such content can be found with relative ease.

I'm not scouring every email released or hanging out on reddit but from my "casual observer" position, this stuff is either one giant tale being spun by overactive imaginations or something very sick being brought into the light.

Pretty sure this is all settled, folks.

If there was anything to see here, our mainstream media would investigate and expose it.

Move along before you earn a label.

Not just the MSM, Gloria Allred would be working hard to expose the issue, instead of allegedly paying women $500k to lie about Trump.

Right? I feel like it has to be, at the very least, drugs. There are too many idiosyncratic ways they're using terms like pizza and cheese in casual conversation. IE, "go for dinner and some pizza"? Doesn't make sense. There was one e-mail where someone asked Podesta, "will I play dominoes better on cheese or pasta?" Doesn't make sense.

Morning update:

Cernovich has picked it up. Guy has a huge following and he doesn't usually roll with news stories unless he's got his sources nailed down.

I skimmed the stuff, and it really looks to me more like a bunch of policy wonks being social. Sociability among geeks looks different than normal people.

As a self-professed geek (20+ years in IT) I don't think we talk that much different than regular people.

Another weird-ass example:

Hi John,The realtor found a handkerchief (I think it has a map that seems pizza-related. Is it yorus? They can send it if you want. I know you’re busy, so feel free not to respond if it’s not yours or you don’t want it.

Computer geekness isn't policy wonk geekness. :)

I kinda straddle both worlds, so I'm comfortable making that distinction.

Its like some people are Star Wars geeks and others are DC Comics geeks.

Washington - and really any lobbying - is about relationships. Podesta is an important guy. So is his brother.

Sounds like Podesta had been to the rental property. Someone found a handkerchief (and other stuff there). It doesn't matter whether they actually thought it was Podesta's. It is an opportunity to email an important guy and look helpful. To leave a good impression with the guy. Stay on his radar. Totally sycophantic. But not pedophilia. Or drugs. And pizza looks like an inside joke about Podesta.

I know a guy that does criminal defense. He's represented individuals charged with various crimes. There is a "code" among certain types of criminals. Nothing in those emails appears to match anything like those codes.

To me, they look more like the BS people send important people all the time.

Now, another observation: Podesta's emails to/from his wife seem cold as tundra. Whatever spark is in that marriage is not immediately obvious from these personal emails. I don't expect sexting or anything, but those emails are very business like. Cheating is very much a thing in those circles, so that wouldn't surprise me. But those emails aren't even smoke from that fire. At least not anything I've seen yet.

Don't get me wrong, T.Lex, I hope you're right. The implications if this all pans out are mind-boggling.

People with good vocabularies showing off to other people with good vocabularies. :)

Followed your link to that email chain, and I see nothing suspicious. And I'm one of the most suspicious people I know. :)

And those kids appear to be related to the emails sender.

What do you find suspicious?

Read the Vox Day link, the e-mail was sent to Podesta. Just seems like strange wording to send to a guy who's not a relative. My children will entertain you?

Again, these are policy wonks. Smart people, who usually interact awkwardly. But its ok, because they are all awkward together.

I probably have referred to my kids as entertainment, in a toungue-in-cheek kind of way. (Although, my kids are pretty entertaining. Or were before they became teenagers.)

Could there be a sex-club atmosphere around the people in those emails? Sure. Money and power tend to move people that direction. That actual pedophile associated with the rich and powerful is evidence that it can happen.

I just don't see these emails as smoke from that kind of fire. Way more confirmation bias going on than actual investigation.

I'm always curious about what they'll drop. :)

Somewhat of a buries lede, though, is how much WikiLeaks and Anonymous appear to be working together. Product development and distribution channels clearly defined.
