According to this morning's Indy bird cage liner, the illustrious spendthrift mayor of the People's Republic of Carmel, while driving a city vehicle, drove left of center and had a head-on with a taxpaying motorist.

Not only was His Mayorship not cited, it seems that city employees driving city vehicles involved in accidents are required to undergo alcohol and drug testing...UNLESS they are elected officials.

And here I thought diplomatic immunity was only for foreign politicos.

Wish I could say I was shocked. But Im not.

Maybe with enough complaining we can get the former issue resolved? (the latter is a moot point this far past the event)

    Semi-related note:

State employees are also not obligated to be tested (at any point unless they're CDL-holders) if in MVA...unless said MVA meets the state requirements for it (which I think means only if severe injuries and/or deaths occur?)

Wait....the City of Carmel leases a Ford Fusion? The choice of hair stylists everywhere? This was a pricey one, but still.

If they want to keep it domestic, I hear that the new Lincoln Continental Black Label is very nice and may be more in keeping with Carmel's image.

He'll likely propose an ordinance requiring vehicles to signal before being hit by him.
