Think Operation Fast and Furious was a debacle? Apparently it was just the start.

A new report found that weapons the Obama Administration provided to Syrian rebels quickly fell into the hands of ISIS, some within two months of leaving the factory.

Sophisticated weapons the U.S. military secretly provided to Syrian rebels quickly fell into the hands of the Islamic State, a study released Thursday disclosed.

The report said the Islamic State’s possession of these weapons remains a threat to the U.S.-led coalition still operating against the terror group in Iraq and Syria.

The arms included anti-tank weapons purchased by the United States that ended up in possession of the Islamic State within two months of leaving the factory, according to the study by Conflict Armament Research, an organization that tracks arms shipments. The study was funded by the European Union and German government.

I wonder how many US troops were killed by weapons provided by Washington.

Just to recap: there's a bunch of guys, we don't really know who they are, their loyalties or their motivations. We secretly give them all kinds of new weapons (not AKs we've swept up from around the 3rd world, new ones). These guys who we know nothing about sell the weapons to the bad guys we are actually fighting. Is that about right?

They could be selling them directly to bad guys. It seems more likely they are simply crappy fighters that are easily defeated. The weapons then become part of the spoils of an ISIS battle victory.

Some of the weapons went to Assad’s forces almost directly as well.
Weapons were from Croatia 90’s Yugoslavia stuff.

This is probably the closest to the truth, without all the "Obama sold weapons to ISIS so they could them against us" nonsense. During the Syrian Civil War, the US sold lots of weapons to various groups fighting the Syrian regime. Some of those groups eventually joined ISIS, that's not a secret.

Separating ISIS from Syrian Rebels is a comical concept.

Difference is only in name. Their enemies are the same.

Not only Obama but that senile old Senator from Arizona pushed to arm Syrian opposition.

The enemy of my enemy ... will become my enemy as soon as he is done killing the competition and consolidating power. When will we ever learn?
