    Food stamps for drug offenders

Bill on Food Stamps for Drug Offenders Clears Indiana Senate

People with felony drug convictions could be eligible for food stamps in Indiana under a bill approved by the state Senate.

Does anyone else see a problem with this? If your a drug offender and can afford to purchase a drug but not food, you might need a change in priorities.

A lot of them trade the food stamps for more drugs. Cut them all off!

Well, actually, it would make the government a "last chance employer".
Employers could say, we won't hire you, you're unemployable.
The government would have to hire them, but the jobs could suck.

How about them picking up streets, highways. Brushing and painting graffiti off buildings.

Makes sense if you want to expand the food stamp program and increase taxes. New hires, enlarged bureaucratic empires, more vendors with cash in hand, from the government's perspective what's not to like?
