I've been posting in the comments sections of various internet news stories about the latest school shooting debacle to the effect that these misguided kids are going to add a million new members to the NRA and sell a million AR-15's.

I just got an e-mail from my gun journalist buddy Dave Workman. The Second Amendment Foundation has experienced a 1200% increase in memberships from 18-20 year olds in the past three weeks, clearly owing to the fact that their gun rights are being specifically targeted.

I believe there's an old saying about poking a bear with a stick.

In 1970 when I was 20 years old I was in the Coast Guard stationed in Michigan. I tried to buy a beautiful S&W K 38 Masterpiece. I couldn't buy it because I was not 21. Thanks to the Gun Control Act of 1968. I have always regretted not getting that pistol. I legally owned several pistols already I had bought during high school. I just had to have my Dad come with me to the store so they knew it was OK. That was pre 68 Gun Control Act. The good old days.
