I've heard talk of late, and in the past, about California threatening succession.
O.K. I understand there is a provision in the Constitution for succession, but that's not my point.

I've read the United States constitution. I don't profess to be a scholar on the matter, but I don't recall a provision for involuntarily removing a state from the union.
The constitution was ratified by the states.
It should follow that states remaining in the union should abide by the agreed upon law of the land.

In this light, I believe the founding fathers missed a potential issue when they did not pen a provision to banish a state from the union when they decide they no longer need to play by the rules.
I really don't see how California can be repaired. It is a failed state, politically, financially, and even morally.

Like gangrene, it should be removed before it infects the rest of the body.

I'm all for the states conducting their own laboratory of freedoms. It's when they fail and the people of those failed states move to a relatively healthy one and insist on infecting their new home with the same diseases that made their former home sick.

Like the influx of idiocy across our borders...???

Same same. Friends in Colorado are hating life right now. Washington state as well. Cali communists have invaded.

My relatives have the same problem in Alaska. Summertime Cali tourists, (they call them terrorists) drop in, like the view, buy up real estate, and then try to change the lifestyle.

I am heading back up there this summer. Libs are hell bent to control and ruin life for everyone. Cannot imagine walking into a Fred Meyer store and not seeing a gun counter.

Years ago, when industry was still moving south, I remember bumper stickers in my home town in Tennessee that said: "We don't care how you did it up north".

Over the years, the plant where I worked my entire career stayed open and in production while many others in the division closed down for one reason or another. As they closed, they'd transfer a number of the workers and management in to our plant. Invariably, they'd say "...this is how we did it in....". That was typically met with "yeah, maybe that's why your plant is an empty field now".

With all due respect, the term for leaving the Union is secession not succession. Who cares If California leaves? A lot of libtard snowflakes would be gone along with that idiot Governor Moonbeam.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Texas flip red to blue in our lifetimes.

all they have to do is gerrymander the crap out of the state to give the power to the urban areas. It worked in Cali, Illinois, New York and the like. Hell, Dallas has been under democratic control from most of the last 50 years. Houston, San Antonio, Austin...all under democrat control. South Bend is another prime example of the same problem. It has sucked the entire county of St Joseph dry, but they have their downtown reconstruction project going, and a shiny new casino going for them. The rest of the county has to make do with what SB allocates to them.

As messed up as California is, it would cause us more trouble if they were banished from the union, or seceded.

It would cause an added security issue with more border to guard, and a large loss of seacoast.

And introduce another foreign country on our border that would more likely than not, be hostile to our interests in many ways.
We would come to regret it.

The new Peoples Republic of California would also welcome a China partnership with open arms. Can you imagine the negotiations over water rights, with those selfish bastards? Not to mention the loss of thousands of square miles of military training and operations ranges.

When it gets really bad, I will personally take it back by force. I don't give a **** about the people as long as my beaches are still intact, it's worth getting back.

Still secretly waiting for that earthquake to redraw the maps and drown LA. :rockwoot:

South Carolina representatives introduced bill to seceed. "The general assembly shall convene to consider whether to secede from the United States based on the federal government’s unconstitutional violation of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution if the federal government confiscates legally purchased firearms."

There is nothing wrong with the state of California, it's just the Liberal infestation. The CDC should declare a national emergency and the Federal government needs to step in. There are protocols in place to quarantine areas when disease breaks out.

    Could be anywhere
Let them secede, declare them a hostile state, invade them and jail their criminal politicians. After a time as a protectorate maybe we will allow them to rejoin the union.

Also, when they secede they don't get to keep the military bases and harbors...or get water from the Colorado.

Let them succeed, declare them a hostile state, invade them and jail their criminal politicians. After a time as a protectorate maybe we will allow them to rejoin the union.

    "Secede," not "succeed."
