    I hope we don't have any Trump evangelicals here. I consider that group to be the height of religious hypocrisy.

    The leftists that try to analyze these things amuse me. Do they believe that evangelicals should support the Clintons, who have similar personal morals as Trump, but the policy positions are anathema to them?

    I stand with Indi, I am born again in Christ and accept and support Trump in temporal things

    Matthew 22:21 Jesus said "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's." Romans 13:1 "Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God and those which exist are established by God."

    1 Corinthians 12

    4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
    5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
    6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
    7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
    8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
    9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

    I'm a born again Christian who supports Trump......

    There's a disconnect there. You are a christian that supports Trump. If you supported Trump because you are a Christian, then that means something entirely different.

    That’s the distinction the article asserts but fails to connect the dots. This has nothing to do with religion. It has almost everything to do with temperament. It’s like Expat says. It’s entertaining watching people who don’t understand Trumpism try to explain Trumpism.

    Christians supporting pro abortion candidates always make me scratch my head

    But Christians that support known prideful adulterers, scammers, serial liars, pro-death penalty, foul-mouthed, who hold the company of pornstars and playmates don't?
    Assuming they lean upon their faith in declaring support.

    Ah, I'm not a defender of Donald Trump, but comparing his personal morals to the Clintons? No, not seeing that. He may be a cad and a scoundrel and a bounder, but he's not in the same leagues as those heinous criminals.

    That just about explains it. The recent pragmatism of evangelicals is surprising, but the old approach wasn't working. Nothing wrong with trying something new.

    Maybe they finally learned something about separation of church and state.

    Let’s be clear, libs will attack you if you’re too religious (chick Fil A, hobby lobby, etc) and if you have questionable morality (trump). If you are a liberal you have carte Blanche to do whatever you want without condemnation unless they just attacked a republican and they need cover

    when you build a consensus party with every small group of alternative lifestyles you can’t come out against anything except conservative Christian morality without offending some of your base

    :laugh: You got me there.

    I just meant from the stand point that neither come across, to me or I think most of the Christian Right, as hard core fellow travelers. Trump does seem more willing to embrace us, or at least our causes.

    Fair enough!

    Trump is naughty and hedonistic. The Clintons are straight-up evil.
