Why does McCain need to invite a person to a funeral that obviously they both share a dislike for each other? The dead have no need for appearances.

It is sad (but telling,) that McCain is such a small little man. Sealing his legacy as a loser, at least this will be an education to future RINO/squish sorts in the GOP, if they'll learn.

    I'm not as educated? Autocorrect?

That's what you said last time. You'd think you'd try to remember not to do that given you have repeatedly done it, and have insulted my on previous occasions. It's almost as if you're trying to be clever in skirting the rules regarding insults by claiming that its auto-correct.

    Anyway.....

If McCain is going to pass soon, I'll prefer to remember him for the good he did and the sacrifices he made. No need to spar with a political opponent who no longer has a vote.

That's not the MO of many of those that love the current president. Clinton and Obama both have no political power, and people still spar with them.

We'll never know, but perhaps the brain tumor has been growing inside of his head longer than is currently believed. It could explain some actions and words that without such an excuse are unfortunate and lamentable. It's also unfortunate when someone's actions and words encourage such ill-will and an apparent lack of sympathy. Senator McCain will always be a hero a to many, but he also made deliberate decisions that many won't forgive and can't forget. In retrospect, I think his imminent passing would yield kinder sentiments had he resigned his a affiliation with the GOP and either become a Democrat on record or at least an independent. Way too late for that now, though.

I'm sorry he is going out this way, but there is no really "good" way to die in my opinion. I hope both his supports and critics choose to just let it go.

Trump is pretty uncouth sometimes, but I'd bet that he does the right thing and doesn't show up at the funeral. Most people know better than to insert themselves where they are not wanted just to stroke their own egos. Not everyone, obviously. But most.

Good example, even with the agenda driven spin. ;)

McCain, Clinton and Obama are prime examples of people who have done us more harm than good. :twocents:

Agreed with both. I don't think he or his family need to have anyone attend they don't want to, and that is their choice, and their choice alone.

That said, I'm not overly familiar with McCain's voting record, etc having myself never lived in AZ, and I wasn't overly impressed with him during his presidential run, but obviously he became the nominee. However, none of that really factors into the equation as I said above, it is their choice, and no one else's. I generally don't feel much need to cater to appearances while I'm alive, and sure wouldn't feel the need to when planning my own funeral.
