GOP lawmaker wants members of Congress to be drug tested


Rep. Clay Higgins, R-Louisiana, introduced a resolution Thursday to make senators and representatives subject to random drug tests once every term.

He also said he thinks the tests would be only fair, since many working Americans in other sectors have to take them.
"Elected officials in Washington, D.C. should be subject to the same kind of random drug screenings that blue-collar, working-class Americans have to endure," Higgins said in a statement.
"Congress shouldn't get to live by a different set of rules," he added.

Can they just work 40hrs a week instead, with maybe 4 weeks of vacation and be off on holidays? That's a bigger return on investment.

I don't think drug testing is cheap...

Its cheaper than many of the other programs we pay for them to have.

If it did pass I’m sure they would get plenty of notice before having to pee in the cup or even get one of their under-lings to do it for them. Laws don’t apply to them sheesh, what r u thinking, lol.
