In the text of the "article" cited below she blathers on about all of the really cool free stuff that she thinks government should provide. When she is questioned about how it is going to be financed she reveals that she has one of those special "You just pay for it" wallets that has the power to create money whenever it's needed. She is quoted as saying “People often say, like, how are you going to pay for it and I find the question so puzzling because ‘How do you pay for something that’s more affordable? How do you pay for cheaper rent?’ You just pay for it,” she said during an interview last week with Jorge Ramos.

Who knew it was that easy??? I hope she runs for president in '20, she has my vote!:lmfao:

Her premise that something would be more affordable if the government ran it, is quite laughable, as it has never ever ever ever been the case.

“I find the question so puzzling” I get the feeling that happens quite a bit with her. I hope she runs for President too.

Boston University let her graduate with a BA in economics.

I wonder if anyone there is regretting that.

She will be the gift that keeps on giving. She didn't cost the GOP any vote because she is replacing a Dem. I predict she will be the mental equal of the Dem who was worried about Guam sinking.

Looks nice, but once she opens her mouth any self respecting guy will take off at a run.

How did she pay for her campaign?

    https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/08/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-cant-afford-to-rent-an-apartment-in-dc.html

One year ago, you could find Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez working behind the bar at Flats Fix, a small taqueria near Union Square. Come January, you will find her in Washington D.C., representing New York's 14th District as the youngest woman ever elected to Congress.
But just because she is making history, doesn't mean she is making money. Ocasio-Cortez recently revealed that she is currently unable to rent a D.C. apartment.
Her transition period will be "very unusual, because I can't really take a salary," she said in an interview with The New York Times. "I have three months without a salary before I'm a member of Congress. So, how do I get an apartment? Those little things are very real."

According to real-estate website Zillow, the median rent in Washington, D.C., is $2,700.

Should’nt be to hard to figure out. Use your socialist skills and get someone else to pay it. Work that magic.

I'm not sure where she calls home, but from a quick Google search, rent in the Bronx and Queens, which are areas she represents, aren't too far off.

And let me get this straight, we're going to let this dumb ass attempt reshape our economic system, but she doesn't have enough cabbage to pay three months of rent? Rock-solid thinking there.

Well, if her premise is right, then yes, you "just pay it".
The problem is, her premise is wrong.

She postulates that replacing our admittedly shaky healthcare payment system with a "single payer" system will save money.
Since it saves money, and we can afford the present system, we can afford to pay the system that costs less.

the problem is, her premise that the new system will magically COST LESS.

I don't understand how people think that if we cannot afford a service that somehow we can afford that service plus a government bureaucracy to run it.

We laugh at her now, but she and those like her are dragging the Democrat party so far to the left, that there will be hell to pay when the D's are the majority party again.

Edit: People like Hillary, Schumer, and Pelosi are now the moderates inside the Democrat Party. Think about that for a while...

And, since there is no "incentive" to make the bureaucracy more efficient....
After all, businesses can go bankrupt because customers went somewhere else.
Government on the other hand, from birth to death they have you.
