This just proves a point I have been stressing for a long time. These body's of Gov only exist to tax. We really need no more laws. Actually we need to clean house on old outdated laws. Clear the decks and reduce the size of these body's.

They will tax everything possible. We are no longer the land of the free.

HA make it retroactive for 5 years... lets see the how well that goes over.

The "well that's just how conversations happen nowadays" argument is out the window because they tax all sorts of things that are just how things are done (phone service, cars, income, sales, etc). I'd argue it more along the other argument: how can you justify taxing txting but not FB, Whatsapp, tinder, and thousands of other apps doing the same thing. It's not like they aren't already collecting income tax, sales tax on the device, tax on the service, and fees per month.

Funny thing is I remember when you were charged per text message by the provider, that was only.... crap that was 13-15 years ago :xmad: YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN *shakes cane from porch chair*

Was watching an interesting PragerU video yesterday discussing saving us from the bloated Federal gov't by having a convention of states. Would love to see it happen. Here's the video:

I remember those days. I also remember when calling was cheaper after 9pm.

I remember when you would pick up the phone to make a call and there was someone already on the line.
    Called that a "party line".
Sure wasn't much of a party...

I remember as an 80's baby having to sit at the counter to use the phone, or when the cordless phones became more popular eavesdropping with your run of the mill kids walkie talkie.

It's just like the socialists in Paris who rioted about gas tax.

You hit these hippies in the wallet and they squirm just like everyone else. They turn into fiscal conservatives real fast when it's the things that they like that are on the line.

Tax Patchouli, tie dye, and man buns while you're at it.
