The turd way overplays it. Trump is a character that has been on the scene for years, hard to beat that with impersonation. Palin was a newby to national politics and the media built a character for her.

i recall the media all aghast about the campaign getting appropriate clothes for Palin, now the so called "journalists" are shopping with Presidential candidates and calling it news.

But we're not talking about the "MSMBS" and other leftist sites said about the Tea Party. We're talking about what I said about it. I didn't gain my opinion of the Tea Party by hearing what other people called it. I got it from watching it turn from a non-partisan movement, narrowly focused on fiscal responsibility, into something much broader, and much more partisan.

I was on board early with the the original concept, the Taxed Enough Already Party, back when they first started. But when they started seeing some success at the polls, every fringe right-winger and nutbagger jumped on the bandwagon and attached all their pet causes to the platform, by implication if not officially. Also, Evangelicals latched onto it and tried to make it into the god party. Nothing wrong with having a "god" faction in a political advocacy group, but c'mon. There's a reason people started calling it the TEAvangelical party. That made it NOT a non-partisan organization. It sunk the cause of mamking fiscal responsibility a non-partisan issue. When all the far-right causes got attached to it and that meant only far right people would support it. And that made it the defacto far right fringe faction of the Republican Party. That's a shame.

My thoughts about the other statements:

Palin isn't stupid. She isn't the sharpest tool in the shed either. She's an opportunist, though she has her share of stupid moments and cringy statements. She is bat **** crazy and she wouldn't know fiscal responsibility if it grabbed her by the *****. She latched onto the TEA Party because there's success there.

Hillary is not innocent. But that's not what we're talking about.

Bill did not fix the economy. But that's not what we're talking about.

Interesting that you bring up GWB. As a Republican he's about as far from the principle of fiscal responsibility as any republican could possibly be.

It's true enough that the media and particularly Tna Fey's portrayal of Palin added a lot of bull**** to Palin's reputation. So she's not AS bat **** crazy as portrayed by Fey.

I have asked time and again for the evidence and one typo and one incident have been posted.

I hope you are not judged as harshly.

As for the TEA Party, I guess it is fair to judge them because a bunch of power seekers and posers tried to jump on their coat tails or declare themselves their leaders.

It's really the same thing that is, and has been happening with the Democrats. "Democratic Socialists" should just stop the pretense and drop "Democratic" from their moniker. The Socialist Party has attached itself to the coattails of the Democrats because they were already in a position of recognition and power. We've seen the "success" of socialist candidates in the past (nil) but attach "Democratic" to their name and now we're supposed to take them seriously? I think not.

Palin is stupid. Absolutely 100% True. Palin is right up there with Maxine Waters in terms of her stupidity. I had heard that Alaska had a populace with a sinking problem. Palin proved it.

GWB is a moron. Awkward would more correct, history will be kinder to him (hopefully).

Hillary is innocent. She's not been found guilty so...

Bill fixed the economy. Not sure how an economy can be broken/fixed... the economy is always working, sometime negatively, sometime positively.

That's how I saw it, at least.

There is a democratic socialist party in the US. That party says they're not just socialists-lite like the Scandinavian countries. Those still have a capitalist free market economy, but they also have more public ownership of things than the US. Anyway the Democratic Socialists really do want public ownership of the means of production, and they really do want to get rid of all capitalism. But they call themselves democratic socialists because they advocate for a democratic form of socialism. Basically the people get to vote on what to do with their group wealth. At least in utopia that's how it works.

In the real world, if it's a pure democracy controlling public ownership of everything, first, I'd say you have a real cluster**** on your hands. Second, I'd call that mob rule. That system will quickly fall apart because it scales worse than a socialist dictatorship. If it's a more republican form of democracy, where there are elected representatives, and whatnot, it's probably bureaucrats which manage the public stuff anyway, which makes it look a lot more like the bureaucrats effectively own it. The further you scale it, the more likely it's going to become a dictatorship.

Sigh. Okay. I guess we'll do this then. I don't think it's going to do any of us any good. You'll just think there's nothing wrong with it. And I'm going to continue thinking it's stupid stuff to say.

    Sarah Palin said:
The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

First, her crucifixion of language is astonishing for someone who was running for VPOTUS. But this is a pretty strong, unnecessary, and stupid hyperbolic statement. If there were a single payer system in the works I could see talking about death panels, because there kinda has to be at some point. In a market based or even pseudo-market based health system, cost kinda tells you when it's time to call it quits. With single payer, it's a panel of doctors who review your situation and say, no treatment for you. So it's reasonable to call that a death panel. But c'mon. This statement is ridiculous.

    Sarah Palin said:
As Putin rears his head and comes into the airspace of the United States of America, where – where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border.

Okay. So having foreign policy experience is a plus for a VP. But it's not a necessity. Palin didn't have to dig through the stupid bag to answer the question. There are plenty of ways to dispatch that question. But she went to the stupid bag anyway. "Basically, I have foreign policy experience because Russia flies jets over our airspace sometimes." would have been a saner way of stating the stupid answer. Tina Fey's bit was probably based on this. I mean, if I were a comedian, I'd be mocking that too.

Here's a good'n. Kinda painful to get through all the way. Paul Revere might be amused.

    Sarah Palin said:
He who warned, uh, the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms, uh, by ringing those bells, and um, makin' sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed.

She thought North Korea was our ally.

“We can send a message and say, ‘You want to be in America, A, you’d better be here legally or you’re out of here. B, when you’re here, let’s speak American.”

Oh, and 'Refudiate,' 'misunderestimate,' aren't typos. They're non-words she thought were real words. I'll give her a break on 'wee-wee'd up.' That's just colloquial language. Whatever.

So those are a few that I could remember to look them up. Like I said. I don't think she's as stupid as the stupid things she says implies. I don't think AOC is all that stupid either. They both just say stupid things because they're both exceptionally uninformed about politics and policy for the platform they have.
