Indy Mayor Joe Hogsett Attacks the NRA To Attack GOP Hopeful Jim Merritt

..."If Mayor Hogsett attacked potholes the way he attacks the NRA, Indianapolis would have the best roads in America!" - Tony Katz

Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett used a Marion County meeting of Democrats to attack presumptive GOP mayoral candidate Jim Merritt. Mayor Hogsett called out Merritt, currently a state senator, for his past support of RFRA and for his support of the NRA.

Hogsett continued the NRA hate, saying that Merritt gets his "marching orders" from the NRA. This is all strange to morning host Tony Katz, who noted that the NRA Convention will be held in Indianapolis in April. He also noted that the convention is expected to bring in $55 million to the city...

I would hate it if the NRA did to Hogsett what Amazon did to New York and said good bye to their upcoming convention. Millions of dollars lost to the many restaurants, hotels and others who would have a nice bonus because of the convention, one of if not the biggest in the city.

Looks like the democrat is running scared. Also showing his true colors and on that alone needs to be escorted out after the next election.

My thoughts exactly. Biting the hand (one of them) that feeds your city is not a good policy move.

You mean Jim "I want to pass unconstitutional mandatory gun storage laws" Merritt?

I hardly consider Merritt a friend or defender of the second amendment. Better on guns than Hogsett? Probably, but that's like being the world's tallest midget.

So keeping Hogsett, throwing away your vote and or poisoning an otherwise good candidate is a better option?

We OFTEN have difficulty selling our mindset to otherwise good for gun owners Republicans.

Merritt won't be passing any gun laws while mayor, so there'll be time to educate him. :twocents:

Just remember that there are other choices than the two placed before you. I am running for Mayor as the Libertarian candidate. Chris Moore is on the Primary ballot against Merritt in May, and John Schmitz is working on running as in independent. If you really want the NRA to come back time and again, you will have choices as all three of us strongly support the NRA. I am a Life Member of both the NRA and the Indiana State Rifle & Pistol Association.

Joe must have the whole rest of the state behind him. The roads are terrible everywhere. With no sign of a road crew since their brining the roads before a rain storm at the end of last year.

Full disclosure: I live 4 miles west of the Raceway Road demarcation line, so I don't vote over yonder. Nevertheless, I have a few questions.

Question 1: Your forum handle is AutomationEngineer. Do you work for Skynet?

Question 2: Do you consider yourself, "anti-pothole"?

Question 3: Will you remove the revolving door from the jails?
