I'll tell you guys this, as a guy who really didn't have any use for Trump I see he is doing all the things that need to be done! He has had the same postion on our Country since that old Interview with Opra! He hasn't lied, did what he said he would do and is most likely going to end up on the wrong side of a scope soon. These Libs are completely spinning cause we have a President who could care less about their political BS! He is already rich, doesn't need Fame, Takes no pay, and gets **** done! It's sad that in DC that is a huge NO NO. Sad day when you get a President like that and have to think how much longer we will have him around, God forbid he is doing the right thing! Makes you wonder how far gone our Government is?

Did he lie when he said he supported so called "assault weapons" bans?

There is no alternative, let alone a better one.

No president is perfect, but to paraphrase Victor Davis Hanson, Donald Trump is what stands between the Unites States and socialism, the false god of multiculturalism and extreme cultural shift towards political correctness.

Political correctness is a one way street to cultural suicide.

I agree. Some people however, will never be happy with any president. Most judge them with the criteria of personality, appearance, mannerisms and other petty things. Job performance is all that really matters in the end.

That's a rational reason to vote for him, but not a rational reason for fierce loyalty.

When he breaks ****. I'd like to be able to say, bad boy! Bad! Shame! No treats for you! When he does good things like getting rid of stupid bat**** crazy regulations, I'll say, good boy. You deserve a treat. Here's your chew toy back.

I have a question for the panel.

In all the ranting and yelling and blind loyalty, what could we do better. I mean Red wants the Gov. to dissolve and go away. To be replaced with what and at what cost.
Others want more Gov on this topic but scream about interference on that topic.

What to do. What to change. And at what costs.

Well, no. I criticize Trump for things he does that I think are wrong, and incidentally, those are many of the same kinds of things several Trumpers here were fully capable of identifying as wrong with Obama. I've seen the arguments flip, where Trumpers be using the same excuse Obamanistas used to defend him. :n00b:

C'mon. I'm just asking for a bit of consistency in principles. If it's only ever bad when the other guy does it, and it's only ever okay when your guy does it, maybe there really weren't any underlying principles you've identified that were wrong with the other guy. Principles shouldn't be that fluid. Maybe fluid principles is an indicator that maybe it was only ever about what which side you're on, and you condemn or justify based on that rather than principle. Not necessarily. But maybe consider if that's true.

You can make everything be what you want by applying trivial technicalities for why something has to be the way you want.

Oh no, Trump's executive action isn't the egregious usurping of executive Power that Obama's was because blah, blah, blah, technicality, blah, blah blah.

C'mon. Think about it. Could it be that you think Obama's executive actions were egregious because they were opposed to your ideological side, and that overstepping executive authority really wasn't the reason? Do you really support Trump's use of executive actions because you want those things done? Is by any means necessary more justified when it's something you support? And it's only wrong when it accomplishes something you don't support?

Maybe when the next democrat is in office and employs a by-any-means-necessary strategy, you can once again see the principles which makes that wrong.

Wanting the government to dissolve and go away is unrealistic and not well connected to reality. It's not a rational position. It's an ideological one. My advice is to seek out what's objectively real and what's not and adjust his outlook according to that.

I don't want government dissolved. I want government right-sized, which is far less involved into individual citizens' lives. I have to congratulate Trump on the the extent to which he's been able to accomplish that in some areas. But, in other areas he falls quite short of that. A recent example, the deal struck to fund government is evil. Trump and Republicans should be criticized for their roles in that. They all played one. Also the executive order to go around congress is evil. Trump needs to be ***** slapped for it. If you think Obama was wrong to use executive actions to get what he wanted when Congress declined, you're not being consistent by rooting for Trump's executive orders, and particularly through invoking it as an emergency when he admits himself that it isn't. But to those of you who support it, I it's what you want, so by any means necessary, right?

But bottom line you think his days are numbered? How fa
r will the Gov go if he starts taking down EPA, dismanteling other stupid agencies?

Well, actually every president's days are numbered when we have term limits. But, if you mean will he be removed from office? No. Not gonna happen. Barring extraordinary and impossible to predict circumstances, he'll at least finish this term. Not sure he'll be reelected. Maybe the nation will go majority bat **** crazy and elect Kamala Harris, or some other crazy person. So far the Dems have no one sane in the running. The only person close to sane--and still not all that sane--is possibly Howard Shultz. And if he runs, he's not even running as a Democrat.

Another possibility is that maybe people will pragmatically vote for Trump despite his faults, because we need to stop this insanely left-moving train before it runs off a cliff. I don't think we're anything close to that now, but we'll see in a year-and-a-half.

Agreed. Put the cancerous tumor back into its original roll and send all the leeches packing. Stop all the off shore bleeding. I could go on and on.
