We have seen the safest way to make a name for yourself in Washington, is to brush a billy-goat offen the nearest knee-high object, mount the podium, proclaim yourself opposed to Trump...then open your purse to donations.

If you're on the left, it's the minimum standard you must meet to play the game.

If you're on the Right, it buys you protection from the howling leftist horde for long enough to build your donor list.

So, Republicans - let's get this party started:

(This is going to be sorta like the INGO hummingbird thread...when you see a new one, report it here)

They may get some narrow-focus money but neither if those two jackasses have a realistic chance of being elected dog catcher much less winning a presidential primary.

    Could be anywhere
Well, I guess it's hard to have a debate if there's no one else on stage. At best they'll expand the debate, at worst they'll be used as convenient foils by the press to attack Trump. The latter is probably more likely.

With the fairly substantial list of personal things that campaign donations can be used on plus the notoriety of opposing Trump, I doubt a serious campaign is even in mind let alone winning the primary.

They should just do crowd funding so the goal they set will delineate the price point at which they're willing to acknowledge reality and just take the money and go home

Rutt-Rohhhh: it looks like the "Pageant" is experiencing some lack of sponsor-interest in the qualifying events:

Seems the GOP primaries are scaling themselves down to fit the available amount of nutrients & oxygen available for consumption.

    Heh.

More Good News: as of late August, the GOP Primary now includes one of the precious few former Illinois Republican politicians who Isn't In Jail: (!)
