:runaway: I'm currently working a project which while it is short term several of the folks I work with are rock solid socialist's. I've had a couple of good conversations with one of the guys and he is all for free healthcare, basic income. You name it and if it is free he is for it. Can't convince him that nothing is free. He's not stupid but for the life of me I can't seem to make him understand that nothing is free. It's all tax the rich, I tell him that at some point he will be considered rich as the government works it way down the income scale as they run out of other peoples money. Nothing is working and I have just learned to suffer in silence.

Give it up my friend. These folks have consumed copious amounts of the CNN/MSM koolaid and they are lost to us. I have thrown up my hands. It is better than choking them out.

But if you ball your hands up into fists, and throw them up close together, just under their chins... ;)

They wont raise taxes on average people they'll just keep going deeper into debt. We need to raise taxes just to pay for the BS we have now but no one will do it. Well actually we need to spend less but no one on either side wants to do that.

Sadly, I can't find much to disagree with here, but I especially agree with the need to spend less.

Term limits would fix that but I'm not holding my breath waiting for that to happen.

Yep... No politicians want to kill that goose.

    Comrade,
You have a fine opportunity to enlighten your co workers!

Read up on Marx and other great Communists and begin spouting quotes and talking a lot about “workers” and how mistreated workers are by capitalists. I would start by telling them how workers need the right to unionize lay out why all workers should belong to the collective. Talk about how the rich survive on the backs of the working people.
Speak in admiring terms about Bernie and Warren and how after talking to your co workers you have seen the light. Try to be almost annoying about you embrace of Socialist ideals. Kinda throw out idea about if you guys were union things would be better and talk about how if you were in a union your benefits would be portable and move with you from job to job.
Rant and rave maybe even wear a commie shirt or button depending on dress code. Ratchet it up as the job comes to a close !

Then come in all despondent one day towards the end of the job, tell them you found out both Brernie and Warren are millionaires and don’t really embrace the ideals they speak!

You could have a ton of fun in that situation!

Unfortunately I think Alexander Fraser Tytler was right
That democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury.
We've put too much emphasis on the democracy part of our republic for too long.

Invite him out for some drinks after work. Make sure he gets blackout drunk, drive him to the Greyhound station, strip him to his boxers and put him on a non-stop to........oh say somewhere just east of St Louis, just south of downtown Chicago or Dayton. You can call it a Value Stream Analysis of Socialism Tour!

Sadly, I can't find much to disagree with here, but I especially agree with the need to spend less.

Until and unless the people feel the pain of the spending they vote for, there will never be any restraint.

    The day is coming.

There's no "we", there's only you and me...and all the other individuals. Collective blame is an illusion.

We being all of those who were busy working/providing for and raising family's and not paying enough attention. This has been coming for a long time.
The lever pullers. Voting the straight party ticket regardless.
    The deniers.
The list goes on and on and on.
