On Facebook I’m currently debating the fact (backed by financial numbers) that women’s soccer players were paid $7.7m more than the men according to financial data/facts. But I was just told that we can’t accept the factual statement from the president of the federation (based on financial statements) because “nobody likes him anyway”. Really?



So if the little fat Nork dictator says the sky is blue and the grass is green we are not to believe him simply because we don’t like him.

So apparently TDS needs to be renamed to *DS. Because its not just Trump. ANYONE they disagree with is wrong, regardless of actual provable facts.

I haven't really followed the whole soccer team pay thing, so I won't comment on that. However, it certainly does seem to me that we have reached the point where it is perfectly acceptable to say that someone they disagree with is wrong if they say "the sky is blue and the grass is green." Worse yet, it is apparently acceptable to also claim that their quote really meant "the sky is red and the grass is yellow," regardless of the evidence to the contrary, and then act as though they are the crazy one.

Hey, I don't do the book of faces, but I am involved in some soccer activities. I've actively avoided those conversations, because I haven't done the research. However, I kinda suspected what has been presented hasn't been... thorough.

I know there's something related to health benefits available to the USWNT that aren't available to the USMNT, but can you sketch out what financial info you're looking at? I feelz like I should be better informed about this.

Its buried now, but as I recall it was the prez of a soccer org involved in the controversy with access to the books to speak to the issue with all the facts.

He he laid out details of gate percentages, as well as profit/loss numbers.

Sadly, today though it seems that everyone has an agenda and isn’t always telling the whole story. Not sure who to believe anymore.

Isn't that lovely? Whatever you feel to be true becomes true to you and no one can argue with your truth, as there is no standard of truth.

Then you just get enough people to feel the same you do and viola! You get to repeat the same pattern as the Soviets, the National Socialists, and most recently, Venezuela.

Update. I think I broke the feminists. It has been a day and I just received one like. Not one single solitary negative reply to my post. Freaky. I'm not sure how to handle this. Is it a slam dunk since there are no rebuttals? Not even a misguided left field troll. If it werent for the like, I was beginning to think I was shadow banned on the post.

Its in response to the recent announcement that the democrats are proposing a bill to withhold funds from being used for hosting the 2026 FIFA world cup unless the US soccer federation agrees to pay the women the same as the men. So I had this response.

If the ladies are making as much money for the league as the men, absolutely. Pay them equally.

BUUUUUT... If they arent, they should be paid accordingly. Regardless of sex, race, etc. your pay should be commensurate with the employer's profits. Are the ladies games raking in the same profits as the mens games? That is the gauge to which we should be deciding who gets paid how much.

This should be treated like any other business. Does the lazy, unmotivated and unskilled sales guy who barely makes sales deserve the same compensation as the award winning top sales guy in the company that generates more revenue? Of course not. Your top performing employees that are worth more should be paid more.

Just like baseball. Do the minor leaguers like the Indianapolis Indians make the same money as the major league players like their parent team the Cincy Reds? Same situation. Indy Indians players dont make as much until they are advanced into the Reds lineup. By the logic used by the ladies, minor league ball players should also make the big bucks their better performing cohorts in the other league do. (even though the minor league revenue is a fraction of the major league revenue)

Everybody doesnt deserve the same income just because. You gotta justify it, and it has to make sense financially.
