Big Changes In Republican Party In Trump Era...

It is fascinating to see the plethora of changes in so many things in so many things, including the Republican Party. Here are some changes of note to me.

Trump is a fighter, like it or not, he fights everyday all day and night. It is amazing at his age he can be so energized to fight what must seem sometimes like the whole world. He has changed the thinking of so many conservatives, they are following his lead and fighting back too. Remember Lindsay Graham in SCOTUS fight and how he fought? Think that would have happened for a Bush II nominee? But have you read of so many retirements from the house and senate? Why? The truth is most do not want to engage in the fight. The crazy azz media lie about them, their positions, and legislation and they just turn the other cheek. Trump has lead conservatives to Learn to fight. I like this article from early in his term, but still true today.

    Rush said this today,

The two biggest factors currently creating a quiet "panic" among Democrats, Rush suggested, is the fallout from Beto O'Rourke's gun control antics at the third Democratic Debate last week and some media-shocking poll numbers.

Gallup has Trump with a higher approval rating the BHO at the same point in their presidencies, his approval rating has done nothing but generally go up over his term as he has governed as opposed to his predecessor that started so high and generally fell as he governed.

Other changes are the energy in conservatives fighting the culture war, and not just taking it.

I agree, he's a fighter, but it appears that he fights more for self than country, if the two cross paths, so much the better. And so far as the changes, I'd say that those changes to the GOP aren't for the better.

My opinion of President Trump hasn't changed, he's a pig, and if you want to wrestle with a pig you are going to get filthy and the pig likes it. That said it is good to see somebody beat on big media.
Where's the Kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth shattering Kaboom.

He's fighting more for self than country because he's personally attacked all day, every day. I don't know if it's an attempt to keep him too distracted to focus on making things better or if people in this country are really that petulant, or both.

I don't care about who he is as a person. I didn't vote for him so he could be a role model. If his actions and apparent refusal to play by the rules of the establishment is causing career politicians to jump ship them I'm all for it. He wasn't elected because he was great, he was elected because he was different and both sides couldn't stand it. If, at the end of his second term we can all look back and find that the Washington D.C. of 2024 is dramatically different than the Washington D.C. of 2016 then his presidency will go down as an overwhelming success.
There's lots of ________ on here who don't fit your particular stereotype, smearing us with goofball sophistry is what is out of line. It just makes gunowners look like *******s.

If the enemy is shooting at the general, are they shooting at him personally or as the head of their enemy?

If if the appeasement Repubs quit that is definitely for the better. So long Paul Ryan and your ilk...

From the article I linked to...

We Right-thinking people have tried dignity. There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W. Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency. We tried statesmanship. Could there be another human being on this earth who so desperately prized “collegiality” as John McCain? We tried propriety – has there been a nicer human being ever than Mitt Romney? And the results were always the same.
This is because, while we were playing by the rules of dignity, collegiality and propriety, the Left has been, for the past 60 years, engaged in a knife fight where the only rules are those of Saul Alinsky and the Chicago mob.

That depends on which way DC goes, because it can get worse. And IMO it has gotten worse. American global prestige, power projection, and leadership is a mere shadow of what it was.

You can fight back with dignity. He doesn’t HAVE to be an *******. He doesn’t HAVE to have the character of a man who screws a porn star while his wife is pregnant with is son.
