Not very interested in the royals, but Herman Cain had a great point: "Most grandparents would be thrilled that the grandson in his 30s is finally moving out."

"Grandparents?" Uhhh... that has to be wrong. Parents, sure, but grandparents? Nope, they'd probably hate it. Maybe your grandparents didn't work you like mine did, but hell if something needed to be done, I was doing it. And it was stuff like "we need that stump removed," "Can you clean the gutters," Ms Elenor need someone to mow her grass. And that was just during summer, I can't imagine if I lived with them full-time.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex dropped a bombshell last week when they announced plans to step back from their jobs as full-time royals, live in North America part-time, and attempt to financially support themselves.

THAT is a tough gig... I mean, coal miners that dig with their hands have nothing on those two.

All my grandparents were dead before I was in my 30s.

Good bumper sticker: “Keep the British monarchy out of America - Vote for Trump”

Not very interested in the royals, but Herman Cain had a great point: "Most grandparents would be thrilled that the grandson in his 30s is finally moving out."

I couldn't care less myself, but the bs in the statement, was funny, particularly on the heels of so many celebrities threats to leave the country and failing to follow through..

They will just move into the media space vacated when Barack & Michelle moved out of the White House.
Donald Trump's presidency has proved: Americans don't want a leader. They want nice manners and designer dresses.

The country is hungry for this, and these kids know money when they see it.

I've never understood big media's obsession with royalty. You would think that it would conflict with their obsession with socialism, but for some reason they don't make the connection. It's one of the reasons I see them as a modern manifestation of the medieval church.

Didn’t we face shoot an assload of Brits a couple hundred years ago to keep the royals out?

Aren’t they only interested because a large viewership is interested? Why Americans give ratings, views, and clicks for these people, I still don’t get. My best guess is it’s because of celebrity and gossip.

The Queen should do the right thing and put the British monarchy and the Royal family out of their misery.

She should announce that upon her death or abdication the crown will be retired, all royal properties will be transferred to the Government, and the remaining royals and their servants pensioned off with not too generous stipends - as long as they shut up and stay out of politics and government. (If they want to dabble in those, they can forfeit their stipends and run for office or even find a real job.) She should do this without consulting any one, just call a press event and boom - fait accompli.

This would allow the Queen and the monarchy to retire with a little bit of dignity, rather than getting the heave-ho in a few years, which is what’s going to happen during “King Charles” reign.I always figured the queen was hanging on so long because her son was such a dolt and she was hoping that one of her Grandsons might turn out to be suitable, but that doesn’t appear to be the case at all.

The Britain that needed a monarch to rally around has long since been destroyed. Time to go gracefully with chin up and a royal wave while BoJo can organize a decent send off and adapt the government to the new situation as part of reorienting Britain after Brexit. I doubt it can survive the reign of Charles and Parliament will end up having to yank life support for the royal family, and it will be ugly.
