We often see polls touting Americans top priorities are this and that but they never seem to even have many of my top issues. So post your issues in no particular order so as to eliminate jostling over what is more important.

What Are Your Top 5 Issues Facing Our Country?

    The Debt.

Global multi-national companies power over our country.

    1. The growing division within our country: political, religious, racial, etc.

    2. Our reliance on overseas trade for critical goods, often from countries that are frequently fickle allies at best

    3. Our current level of debt, and the lack of political will to address it. People want the debt to go down, but also want their pet project(s) funded, or an increase in government projects and associated spending

    4. Weak allies. Many of our allies have not met their military spending obligations, and/or have out sourced their security to NATO and the US. Furthermore many of our largest allies have grown increasingly dependent on Russian gas or Chinese technology for critical infrastructure, leaving them open to being exploited

    5. Weaknesses in our critical infrastructure

Now I could get behind this 100% It would solve some of the problems others have listed.

    .
For me it's tough to say because of all the conflicting and self serving info you get on the news.

What I can DO is vote, pay groups that hire lobbyists to present views I agree with to leadership, and take good care of my own.

I am concerned about the lack of interest in the topic of big tech censorship, even here on Ingo. 96 views, on a topic I expected to be an interesting discussion, not one opinion on the issue...

    https://www.indianagunowners.com/fo...-big-tech-censorship-just-how-do-we-deal.html

Personally, I don't think there is any way to save it. When the discussion comes around to how we can gut FB and TWTR and convert the hollowed out shells into zombie messaging ISPs with zero curation, I'll probably join in

Did you not see some merit in the tweak to the law to force them to be platform or publishers?

Not really, I think they're so big now that very few entities have the necessary money and/or connections to make a serious run at them in court, so opening them up to that sort of court challenge would not have the sting you think it will (I'm assuming you don't think the government will be the one to bring such challenges. If you're going to go there, it would be better to go straight to break-up)

I don't even see a rational end goal with breaking them up. The Bells and cable monopolies were dampened by making them carry competing services on their infrastructure without favoritism, how would you apply that to FB's infrastructure? If you forbid them from curating at all, you risk it dissolving into some parody of 4chan. If you allow/require them to curate then you wind up at some possibly more subtle version of where we're at today. Google is an even thornier problem because they supply useful tools (search, mapping etc) that require them to exercise discernment. If you go to some government deployed messaging infrastructure you get Weibo or RenRen

The best future hope I can see is for companies to sell me AI that runs on my devices and devotes itself to my personal privacy and accuracy of information provided all while running in the background. Of course, then you have to rely on the vendor not to build in back doors

It just looks like an arms race I'm not interested in competing in
