Bloomberg is running a three minute commercial to tout his leadership and slam the Trump administrations leadership concerning Coronavirus tonight.

    Where there's smoke, there's fire.

If we look hard enough, we'll find this came from Russia.

    Yadda yadda.

MSNBC trying to make it happen...

MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace was beaming as she discussed the possibility of the deadly coronavirus sweeping the country and killing an untold number of Americans. The reason for her glee? MSNBC and the rest of the mainstream media see an opportunity to direct the public's ire toward the president should the virus result in a deadly pandemic, which the media assures us is already here. The coronavirus originated in China and has quickly made its way around the world.
Wallace, who worked in the Bush administration during the deadly storm, sees an opportunity for the media to blame President Trump for the virus the same way the media blamed President Bush for Hurricane Katrina.

"We gave them a proof point that we were indeed incompetent and also people died," Wallace characterized the Bush administration's response to Katrina. "I mean, this has the making structurally for the same kind of moment for President Trump."

The panel was optimistic that enough babies, friends, loved ones and old people would perish from the virus that Trump's solid base of support would finally begin to waver.

"And if there's any a moment that would shake that 40 percent, the folks that would allow him to shoot someone right down fifth -- if there's any a moment, it's this one because it's babies, it's friends, it's loved ones," said Eddie Glaude Jr., an African American Studies professor. "And so it seems to me that this is an event that could take down the president."

Think big media will change the name to Orange Virus? I remember all the stuff about President Bush and the hurricane, some of it was pretty goofy.

I was listening to a talking head yesterday and he brought up a good point. We have no idea how many people are walking around right now that have that virus. Could be many have already “had the flu” or “allergies” or whatnot and recovered. Once the testing becomes readily available, look for the number of cases to skyrocket. But also look for the mortality rates to drop.

Elizabeth Warren was asked what she thought should be done about the coronavirus. She basically replied with "Trump is racist" rhetoric. Some of these people are so twisted that they no longer function as normal human beings. They just keep trying too stir the pot at all costs.

Well, they think that this is the most importantest election ever too. It's not surprising that they try to politicize it. Would be nice to keep politics out of it, but in an election year, that's just not gonna happen. But even apart from it being an election year, TDS can't help itself. There's nothing good that can happen that was Trump's doing, there's nothing bad that can happen that isn't his fault. And it's true enough that not much good that happens IS Trump's doing--good things can happen for reasons the president doesn't control. He deserves credit for what good he does have a hand in bringing about though. But for the same reasons not much bad that happens IS Trump's fault, notwithstanding that he deserves blame for what bad has come about because of decisions he's made.

It may be true that he could have approached this more aggressively. I don't see any president doing that though, because early on, when it really matters, it's hard to know just how dire consequences might be to justify disrupting so many people's lives.

He quickly shut down travel to China to a huge chorus of "that's racist!" He was probably more aggressive than any other president would have been. China had at least a chance to contain it, but didn't understand how serious it was early on. Later when they did take it more seriously, it was too late and had started to spread around inside and outside of their country. Now, every country will have to deal with it in their own way. No president could have stopped it, though critics will act as if Trump is at fault somehow. He has delayed/slowed it's entry, well-funded efforts to handle it and appointed Pence to oversee day-to-day operations.

The only serious failure I can see so far is the serious lack of testing (< 2000 so far). If you don't test, you won't find anything. The CDC had designed the test kits and they were flawed and had to be recalled, which put back serious testing and tracking of the disease by 3-4 weeks. I just found out yesterday what happened there.

Now that doesn’t mean that you can’t screw up the coronavirus test if you really set your mind to it. And in fact, that’s exactly what the CDC did in January, when they rejected the World Health Organization’s proposed test panel for SARS-CoV-2 (the official name for this particular novel coronavirus which causes the disease COVID-19) in favor of a gold-plated test panel of the CDC’s own design. After all, why just test for SARS-CoV-2 when you could also test for other SARS and MERS viruses? Unfortunately, with complexity came error, and these initial CDC triple-test kits had a flaw in one of the multiple tests, ruining the entire test. Now the CDC is producing a solo test for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, but this fiasco set us back weeks in test-kit supply.
When acting on this, it is far better to act quickly and effectively than later and in a perfect manner. Get known usable tests out quickly. Then if you see value in the "gold-plated" ones, introduce them as time permits.

Edit: And to politicize this post-

NBC political director Chuck Todd spent a part of Sunday’s Meet the Pressmusing about how the virus could be President Trump’s version of the Iran Hostage Crisis, where President Jimmy Carter showed such poor leadership the public voted in President Ronald Reagan. Of course, the idea this time was that Trump would get dumped for a Democrat.

Let them dream. A huge difference is who the public is offered as an alternative. Jimmy Carter's opponent was Ronald Reagan who offered a positive vision and escape from the malaise of the Carter years. Trump's opponent will likely be senile Biden or Commie Bernie.

You have to ask the question of what sort of job can get done when you don't know how many of the people you are delegating the job to are part of an organization that wants to thwart everything you do at any cost. #resist:dunno:

The coronavirus situation appears to me to be another coordinated attempt by the dems and their media accomplices to get Trump yet again.

If if it was not there would be serious discussion of our dependence on countries vulnerable to these types of viruses to supply huge percentages of the goods the public consumes. The unfettered access to our country of those carrying diseases our protocols have eradicated. Nope, strictly an attempt to blame Trump

The longer this goes the more political it seems. Some review of swine flu shows the the democrat/media complex worked to keep the public calm. So Biden got in trouble for for breaking the script and the press secretary apologized for his "misspeak". Some say he spoke the truth, and he well may have, but swine flu didn't wreck our country.

They are are wrecking our country...
