Chinese Communist Party - Plan to take Control of China's Private Sector

    https://www.asiatimesfinancial.com/ccp-announces-plan-to-take-control-of-chinas-private-sector

"Since the 18th National Congress in May, members of the party's Central Committee and Comrade Xi have proposed a series of new concepts and strategies, and adopted a series of major measures to guide and promote private economic 'united front' work. They say these moves have achieved "remarkable results".
As China’s private economy has grown and diversified, the statement says "these measures will bring about a great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation under Xi Jinping thought".

Overall, there are more than 100 measures, including guidance on selection of personnel to implement the measures.
    . . .
According to the new provisions, private firms will need a certain amount of CCP registered employees, which is already a long-term practise in large private firms but not smaller ones.

These cadres will make sure businesses follow the guiding ideology “Guided by Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.”

They will also guide private business people to enhance the latest CCP catchphrases – “four consciousnesses”, strengthen the “four self-confidences”, and achieve the “two safeguards.” "

CCP speeds up 'Digital China' plan for 100% watch over daily life

    https://www.asiatimesfinancial.com/ccp-speeds-up-digital-china-plan-for-100-watch-of-daily-life
"The editorial says: “General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that speeding up the construction of a digital China will better serve China’s economic and social development and the improvement of people's lives.”
In practical measures, Digital China will be a nationwide cloud, and citizens will receive a “one Internet, one screen, all-in-one card.” Almost all aspects of life – clothing, food, housing, transportation and government services – will be covered.

The People's Daily said this would give citizens “a sense of freedom and freedom of one machine in hand."

Education, medical care, culture, social security, pension and other factors would be deeply integrated with the Internet system."

Guess we’ll see whether the “Great Rejuvenation” is any more successful than the “Great Leap Forward”?

The biggest issue with technology is the control it gives governments over its citizens. China is ahead of the curve, but other nations are also on the path.

Agree first sentence but our "private" tech businesses are right behind them just ready to give the conquering democrats all the tracking data they want...

Our private tech businesses aren't right behind them. They helped build the CCP's information infrastructure, while at the same time refusing to help the US military (Project Maven).

I wonder what color Xi Jinping's book will be?

Good question as red is already taken. The four consciousnesses sounds a lot like the four olds from the cultural revolution.

A Chinese civil war in Asia will finish the economy here in the states. It will take a good while to start over.

I have always said that, eventually, China will have a civil war. They are a huge country with multiple different ethnicities. They are not a homogeneous country. Something like civil unrest, such as in Hong Kong, coupled with their first depression/recession since people started living the “good life”, and it could go up.

Here at our house we've been on a slow stocking program for non perishables that come from China. I told the wife that you can have steady electricity and still be in the dark if you don't have light bulbs.

"A New York City Police Department officer has been charged with acting as an illegal agent for China.

Tibet-born Baimadajie Angwang is accused of reporting on the activities of Chinese citizens in the New York area and assessing potential sources of intelligence in the Tibetan community.

The naturalised US citizen, who worked for the police department's community affairs unit, was arrested on Monday.

If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 55 years in prison.

According to prosecutors, Angwang is also employed by the US Army Reserve, working as a civil affairs specialist."
