I had honestly never heard of this, but it's popped up in the last few days with the publicity around remarks made by Canadian PM Justin Trudeau.

    https://summit.news/2020/11/16/the-...ays-corona-pandemic-has-provided-opportunity/

Sure, yeah, that's maybe a shaky source. How about the horse's mouth?

    https://www.weforum.org/great-reset/

A fellow INGOer turned me onto Jack Spirko's podcast, and he had an awesome show yesterday tangentially related to this topic. Honestly, a lot of it lines up with what we've heard regarding Agenda 21, etc., over the years.

Resistance via Adaptation During the Great Reset

Thoughts? Part of me thinks that most people aren't going to be keen on a world without property, but another part knows just how lazy the average person is. If you give them UBI, a place to crash, and a sweet video game console, how many would sign up for it?

More than anything I'm just impressed how people have become convinced that capitalism is a horrible thing and must be ended. I wonder where this is starting, as during my graduate program I had many fellow students say that "white supremacist capitalism" was to blame for everything you could think of. My thinking is it has to be starting earlier than college. :dunno:

I know that I would not be for a world without property and I want the government as far away from me as possible in all aspects of life.

One of the things that Spirko talked about in the context of America is that we're a bit different from, say, England, in that the countryside outside of the cities can still be owned by individuals. That gives a measure of personal freedom that someone living in the middle of a city doesn't have - or even the suburbs. Remember Biden talking about needing to change the way property is zoned during the campagin?

    Pipe dream.

Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed. In short, we need a “Great Reset” of capitalism.

And such 'reforms' will become the new 'block busting',with the people with the means moving further out and the suburbs becoming as densely populated as the city, with the attendant difficulties of finding gainful employment for that population as well as funding services as well as schools - essentially just widening the blight. I've seen it in two communities in Columbus' exurbs, that didn't have adequate control of zoning and land use, undergoing surges in the building of apartments and condos until the levies began to fail for schools and infrastructure because of the increasing density overburdening schools and town services without any commensurate increase in revenues. People moved even further out, good school systems became mediocre, infrastructure began to decay and crime began to rise as people less invested in the neighborhoods began to take over some of the rental housing

For anyone familiar with Columbus, I'm talking about Westerville South and Hilliard first, with Pickerington following in their footsteps

I’m very firmly in the camp that the Great Reset is a real thing/concept, not necessarily that it WILL happen, but it is definitely real in concept and theory by those who are advocating for it. It is all over the World Economic Forum web and social media pages, as well as being touted by various economists, social justice advocates, climate change activists, entrepreneurs and business owners and politicians. Even Time magazine has a website dedicated to it:

    https://time.com/collection/great-reset/

If you’re seeing “build back better” as a motto everywhere, it’s because it’s the directed talking point of the Great Reset:

I wish people would just ask themselves if a single organization, of whatever type, could gain control of global systems, what guarantee do they think they have that it would need to continue to care about climate change or social justice or any of the other ideas being used to sell it to the gullible

Was communism ever worried about the climate or the environment or the health and wellbeing of it's citizens? Why would they be expected to start now

You know it’s something not to be trusted when the NYT says it’s a “conspiracy theory” even though there are legit webpages and professional videos discussing it. It’s not like it’s 8chan or anything, it’s out in the open...

There is an interesting that the more faith and trust in institutions and "elites" at all levels erodes, the more controls they want to implement on us. You can debate on cause/effect. You can't honestly debate that this is about curtailing freedoms.

They think they have the whip hand and are loath to waste a single minute in establishing the new world order. The masks have been off for quite some time

The ones who think it will be the Star Fleet economy I suspect are in for a disappointment

The last thing even close to a "one world govt." was the Roman Empire.

The only thing even close today is the EU - which is now starting to topple under it's own weight.

    I'm not overly concerned.

Do you have your 42 month countdown timer? You know, just in case you're incorrect

I think losing sight of this one would be detrimental overall. Yes, it is a big idea that we all know would not do what it advocates for, however, that doesn’t mean that won’t gain traction, and quickly. (Heck, we all though Trump would win in a landslide, but that’s another topic.)

The Sheep are easily swayed with promises of free everything and college and UBI and an end to climate change and racism and blah blah blah...just look at how fast so many corporations, school boards/districts, governments entities and what have you jumped on the BLM bandwagon. Look how fast “Democratic socialism” has become a national talking point. Look at all the people who will quickly line up for a vaccine and who have completely given in to the government without a shot even being fired. As long as people can live off the government, there’s a chance that big crazy ideas like this can move forward.

I don't understand the timeframe, but feel free to tag my message to bring it up if I'm wrong.

How is wanting to get vaccinated against a deadly virus is "giving in to the government"? :dunno:
