Democrats’ Suicide Strategy – Do They Know Something We Don’t?
Much has been made about how Democrats are committing political suicide with the healthcare bill and all the other onerous legislation they have proposed and/or passed this year. There is no mistaking that these actions are extremely unpopular. The widespread uncertainty they have fostered in the business community by coupling job-killing legislation and talk of big tax increases with unprecedented, reckless deficit spending has kept our economy at a virtual standstill. And their insulting, arrogant, dishonest and blatantly corrupt behavior has brought citizen concern and anger to a fever pitch, while Democrat poll numbers plummet.

But those who believe in this "Democrat suicide" model implicitly assume next November's elections will be free and fair. Given ACORN’s antics, Democrat Secretaries of State literally stealing elections, shocking abuses of power by Democrats in Congress and the administration, the blatant thuggery of SEIU and other union activists, while the media covers for them, such an assumption is fairy tale fantasy. It would be funny to think some people actually have that much faith in Democrats, if the implications weren't so disastrous. As it is, one can only cry.

A dark day: in the late night of Christmas eve, Congress has overstepped it's constitutional bounds.
CQ Politics | In the Right - The Most Significant Vote of the Decade
Every single Democrat in the Senate is now on record in support of the belief that the federal government literally has the power to order its citizens to use their own after-tax dollars to buy something it wishes them to buy, under threat of penalty.

The only reason I'm not 100% in despair yet is my hope that the House and Senate versions are so irreconcilably different that they'll never be able to agree on a single measure. Please, let it be so.

I have lost all hope. Strangely, in this new era of hope which they tell me we all live in...

Although I though this would happen, now that it has, I still have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. America has been sliding down into a third world country for years, now its actually becoming reality.

    From MSNBC:
"Speaking not long after the Senate passed the $871 billion bill by a 60-39 vote, Obama welcomed the vote as bringing America "toward the end of a nearly century-long struggle." He said presidents since Theodore Roosevelt in 1912 have been trying unsuccessfully to overhaul medical care."

"This morning isn't the end of the process, it's merely the beginning. We'll continue to build on this success to improve our health system even more," Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said before the vote. "But that process cannot begin unless we start today ... there may not be a next time."

"The Nevadan said that "every step of this long process has been an enormous undertaking."

"Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., chairman of the Finance Committee, said he "very happy to see people getting health care they could not get."

What have we been fighting in this countryfo the same amount of time?
    Here's a hint, substitute these words;
    socialism, coummunist, fascist

It should be horrifically clear to you now.:patriot:

Does anyone know how much this is going to effect small businesses? I employ 15 guys. This year was tough enough. We had to really cut back in order to keep things going. We can't afford another tax increase.

Likely, it will force you and your employees into the "Public Option", or some variant, by making what ever insurance product you have now too expensive or "unqualified".

I'm self employed, and happy with my coverage for my family (other than it's fairly expensive). This legislation is infuriating, because i don't think keeping our current plan is an option. We have a high deductible plan and HSA which gives us lots of latitude in choice of treatment and providers.

All that said, there is no telling what actually passed. I can't find it on LOC website yet. So much for giving the public 3 days to review before a senate vote. What a bunch of liars.

This just proves we have no representation any more. The majority of Americans were against this Bill, it passed anyway, but the sheeple of this country are just going to stand around with their collective thumbs up their a$$e$ and let this happen...

We can either man up, or submit to tyranny.
Right beside you brother. Until this week I really hadn't given much consideration to a successful stop sign at the state level, but it is looking like this may be the way to go.

Wow....."third world country"....."America's darkest day in history"..........I would say that is a bit of an exaggeration.
If you mean the REALLY dark day will be when these nimrods hand a complete bill to President for signing, and he signs it, then I would agree that today isn't THE darkest day. If you "don't think it will be that bad", you are really kidding yourself or in need of more details about what affect this legislation could have.

You obviously have never been to any inner city Section 8 cesspools in any major city. Try walking through the Phoenix apartments in Indy and then tell me that isn't a third world $#!thole.
