What light do you use for coyote hunting at night? Do you use a scope mount light or a hand held spot light? Do you use green or red? What power do you use? The distance from my back door to the edge of my property is 310 yards. I am wanting a light that will allow me to see that distance without any problems. Thanks

I use a scope mounted light with a red led that adjusts off a rotary knob . It's a "Coyote Light" , pricey but works very well . It would do exactly what you need .

I would say most led predator lights will be able to shine eyes at the distance , but you want to be able verify what it is your about to shoot at . I also have a "Night Eyes" gun light , but I'm not 100% sure it would have enough power to make out the target for certain . On a good clear night with low humidity I think it would . You also need some decent optics with good light transmission .

I have the Wicked hunting light package. They are pricey but pretty bright and have interchangeable colored LED. Red green and white.
I am close to you if you would like to see one work

I have a Predator Tactics Night Raid light. It came with a barrel mount and a scope mount. It's a green light with plenty of lumens (300 in green LED) to illuminate eyes at 300 yards.
I run it in the scope mount, on my AR. The magnification on the scope definitely helps. Last I looked, the Night Raid kits ran around $130. That's with rechargeable NiCad batteries with car and wall charger.
They are also an Indiana based company.

P.S. Optics Planet has them for $115

I use a Nitecore P12GT...white light because I am a human. Coyote, pigs, rats, otters, wolves, etc.

Previously I used a Solarforce something or other, but the P12GT has quite a bit more throw.
