You may want to start following HB1415 which passed the House Natural Resources Committee this morning. An amendment was offered to change the wording on rifles to .243 and above. Should be posted with the update one day soon.

Well... I think my 300blk just lost a little value. I think this is a good thing tho. In my experience it is much easier to get someone shooting consistent with a rifle than it is to get them shooting well with a shotgun. Consistent results can lead to ethical harvests.

After last year's goat rope that lead to a couple steps forward, I'm not holding my breath for complete liberalization 6mm and up...but a season without incident should help the cause.

Knowing our all knowing politicians they could amend the amendment like they did originally and no telling what we will end up with..

Don't count your chickens just yet...

I will be glad to see this happen, I have a Marlin Guide Gun in 45-70 that will take over for the 44mag, and a Winchester 70 featherweight classic that will retire the 30-06. Better call Midway and get some brass and bullets on the way...

Thanks for posting Willie. Been looking at adding a rifle to some day try some hunting out west. Lots of different calibers to consider, but it would be handy if whatever we choose would be Indiana deer legal as well. Guess we can all wait and see...
