All indications from farmers are that everything is 2 weeks early this year. Southern part of IN typically sees morels right about good Friday weekend. So they should be up. I've seen some posts of some hauls already.

Found a whopping 20 grays over a 3 day period. Finally enough for a small dinner, 3 kids will wipe them out as soon as I put them on a plate. Waiting for the mother load, but to be honest I am not expecting a great year for them. Hope I'm wrong.

Why not? Its been very wet and warm. Hopefully be a good season.
It was a mild winter, seems like mild winters aren't followed by mother loads fungus producing springs. It got real warm in February, then turned off cold. Found yellows yesterday, early for yellows. In 2012 when we had a warm winter I found yellows in March and then by the 2nd week of April they were done. Turned off hot and dry. 80 degrees for this Sunday high, again not good. too early for 80's and yellows.

Don't mention 2012.....shudder. Working in factories in southern Indiana I thought I was back in places like Mexicali and Juarez.

Bleck... I came home from Kandahar in late June 2012, thought I left the unbearable weather behind, and within 2 weeks we hit 108 in So. IN... I'm dreading a repeat of that...
