    Anyone use Tenkara fishing setup?

I enjoy fly fishing, and I enjoy a regular spinning rod, but both of those are too heavy & bulky for backpacking. I like the simplified approach of the Tenkara rod as it seems to be an over engineered collapsible cane pole that as a complete setup weighs less than half a pound. Looks like a perfect combo for the backpacking trips I have in mind, but I've never used one and don't have any experience with them.

Anyone here got any time on a tenkara that could share a little wisdom?

Tagged for interest. I have used a collapsible crappie rod called a black widow for years. It is a 16 foot cane style pole that collapsed to four feet.
