Does anybody have a way to make merganser taste good?

Mine is still grill it on a cedar plank, throw the plank away, throw the duck away, order a pizza.

I think it is best to just let the merganser fly by. Making them taste good would be require totaling masking their flavor, so why bother in my opinion. In addition to tasting bad, I have read that there are warnings about consuming them if they feed from certainty n bodies of water.

I shot and tried to eat one once. My recipe was coat the merganser in mud, bake it for 10 hours, crack and peel the mud off. Throw the carcass away and eat the mud.
