    I wonder what having a couple really warm days followed by back in the freezer is going to do up here in the north. This may be a bad year.

    The first time I ever went morel hunting was about 30 or so years ago. A buddy invited me to go with him. It never even occurred to me that he didn't have permission to be on the properties we went to until some guy came out and yelled at us. Surprised the hell out of me.

    Had an old guy years ago tell me he's picked mushrooms out of the snow.
    He said they were up for awhile then it snowed, just a dusting, made them real easy to see
