Off Color Turkey Legs & Spurs

I called this bird in this past Tuesday for my hunting partner....pretty big bird. It weighed 25lbs. I noticed that the leg coloring and spur coloring is a lot lighter than turkeys that I have called or killed in the past. I'm use to seeing legs that are a dark pink...almost red, and spurs that are black. Note: Spurs measured 1 1/8". Is this some kind of genetic deal? Have any of you experienced turkey hunters seen this before?

I don't think there is anything unusual at all.

Maybe the birds you you have killed in the past were farm raised for Thanksgiving.... lol.

They’re definitely lighter than any wild birds I’ve seen before. No idea what would cause it.

Different diet, perhaps. Genetics would be my guess though. I don't hunt them so I'm not much of an authority.

Killed one in Missouri a few years ago that had pink spurs.
