    I asked, and I received.
This was forwarded to me by a DNR officer when I asked about a landowner license exemption.
He told me , "No, you do not need a license to hunt deer on the land you own".
This could be that I qualify and you wouldn't, but...
Scroll down about 1/3 of the page to exemptions.

There is a very broad description of "farmland" that qualifies for this exemption, and there is NO MINIMUM acreage needed!
    Hope this helps someone else.

I haven't purchased a deer license in 7 or 8 years, as I only hunt deer on our farms. However, I do purchase the standard license so I can hunt coyote and racoons on other places. It really is a nice benefit for those who own land.

Sooo....if I have a fully wooded lot does that equal timber production?

The code says something to the effect that if the land is suitable for farming crops, livestock, fruit, timber...
It does NOT say it has to be in use as one of these, just that it be well suited to those purposes.
It also states no acreage requirements, but I do believe the property must be zoned agricultural.

Check the link in the original post.

It's mighty kind of em to let you hunt on your own land. :twocents:

last deer tag i bought was in 1995.......

It is my understanding that you are still supposed to check in these deer.
How do you fill out the line asking for the license number?
Do I just list property/land owner?

This will be my first year hunting property that I own.

We have used the online check in and there is a category for landowner. Just follow the prompts. :)

Do you need a turkey license, or a habitat stamp for hunting on your own land?

Nope...I don't believe you need any stamps/licenses for your own property for hunting or fishing. Hubby only has to get a permit if he is hunting on property we don't own. The regs don't specify a difference between species being hunted.

No stamps needed for hunting geese/ducks on own property?

I don't see where it specifies any variations for different species so that's a good question. It might be a good idea to contact the DNR and ask for clarification if in doubt, but it says "hunting and fishing" in that link I posted above and doesn't say any specific hunting season. They have to be checked in but I don't see where you have to purchase any license/tags/stamps as a landowner.

As a matter of fact, we have an appointment to meet the local DNR officer on our property this coming Monday.
I'll add that to my list of questions for him.
