I wonder... a black bear... will IDNR rule that a house cat, or a pet that someone released into the wild?

Though not confirmed in this story, I got an alert awhile ago that DNR has confirmed it was a Black Bear.

I'm going to start packing my 629 that Bosshoss did the excellent trigger job on me for me and Saul's walks at Lapping Park....To the guys up north I want you all to know that this bear was not in "the woods" of Southern Indiana...My cousin is a Floyd County Deputy and he said that was one weird call he got on the radio....

I mean this was "in town"....2 miles from downtown New Albany and 3 miles to downtown Louisville....

They took blood and hair from the vehicle and the ground, the testing confirmed it to be a black bear.

I guess that is better than a drunk local walking home from a costume party...
