    I've never seen birds hit the ground as early as this guy did this morning but it worked out in my favor. He never gobbled after I made the first soft tree call but when he flew down he came right at me and caught me off guard when he showed up so soon.

    I would assume that the birds have been roosting durning the rain and the grumbling in the belly made them hit the ground early?

    I am too young to be retired. I'm still working, just couldn't work as a police officers any longer.

    It rained here from noon the day before until a few hours before daylight, I suspect they were ready to dry off as much as anything.

    Nice bird Phylo!

    Hunted every day around the rain for the last three days here, only saw one jake. Two weeks ago it looked like a good season, now everything is gone even off the cameras. Strange.
