Shot this coyote while deer hunting with my M1917 Eddystone 30-06. Sure did a number on it. I did take a nice buck about an hour later with the rifle. I'll try and post those later.

Thanks, ya they are pretty thick where we hunt. My 11 year old was with me and he always freaks out while walking in when it's dark. We've heard them running through brush before.

Thanks. I've had the rifle for awhile but hated to take it out for fear of scratching it. But I thought what is the joy of just letting it sit in the safe, so it's been on a few hunts with me.

How many rounds of ammo were you carrying ? Looks more like you were more geared up for a behind the lines incursion than a deer hunt ! 

If you are wondering why only 6 rounds, well that's all I could find....lol. I had bought a box of 20 Fusion soft point rounds and could only find 6 of them.(since I usually dump all my ammo in one can) As far as carrying a handgun on my chest, I always carry but like to carry on my hip. I can't really attach a holster to my bibs so this small chest rig is perfect. I can keep my license, cash, truck keys, cell phone, hand warmer and a Snickers (fits perfect in the mag pouch :):) all with easy access. So behind enemy lines with the critters.
