    There are a bunch of HNF threads if you search. But two quick pieces of advice

    1. Pick up after yourself and leave no trace. No brass, no targets, no shot up trees.

    2. Get a copy of the Indiana Atlas. Very detailed as to where boundary lines are and will make it much easier to find a spot.     A few of us have our "secret spots" there. But yes.

    The Vehicle use maps on the HNF page exactly show where good parking spots are and where the boundaries are.

    Also NO NO NO Shooting in the Deem wilderness.

    Best to avoid some of the major hunting seasons too. Walking around in the woods with a 223 during deer season may be a tough explanation to a game warden. But you mileage may vary.
