Where ever my GPS says I am
Proteq is cheap and within an hour of Indy. Jobs

the cheap option includes a basic range. The one that includes both of the valleys is good. Investors been there on ingo shoots and it is nice. Covered pistol area, longer yardage range, cowboy and 22 area. If I didn’t like Riley cc as much I would go there.

    Where do we go?

    Nowhere. Stay home.

Would you go to a shooting range if one of every 500 people to use the range was fatally shot? Or would you think that range has some serious problems with their safety procedures?

That's the same result as 99.8% survival rate for Covid, and the survival rste is only that good for those of us in the least-vulnerable age range.

DNR FWA ranges are low volume affairs for the most part.
Being outdoor ranges with limited benches or stations your contact interaction is quite low.

YOU ARE MORE LIKELY TO GET SICK buying milk @ Kroger. Walmart. Meijer.
    you see.......

Thanks I'll find a reasonable range option that is Safe & really get shivers buying milk or bread......

Most Fish & Wildlife Area shooting ranges will reopen March 19
    Start Date:3/18/2020

    Event Description:
All DNR Fish & Wildlife Area (FWA) shooting ranges, excluding the one at Tri-County FWA, will resume normal operating hours beginning tomorrow, March 19.

All FWA ranges closed today, March 18, as staff take extra precautions to sanitize facilities amid coronavirus concerns.

Tri-County FWA will remain closed until at least March 24.

The DNR wants to provide Hoosiers with outdoor activities they can do amid concerns about the coronavirus, and is doing its best to ensure the safest possible environment for visitors to FWAs.

    fantastic news!
    only closed one day!

I would have bet the farm they would be closed until September or November, just before election day!

three cheers and thank you to Our IDNR
    FWAs:rockwoot:

    IN71vet,
    thank you so much.
I was finding private ranges open, but no way to apply for membership!
I was also surprised to read National Parks were trying to stay open with free admission, just some programs cancelled.

I never thought to see if IDNR would clarify "until further notice" within 36 hrs!

People will die without food. Not really comparable. Hobbies can be put on hold.

And most of the people out in stores probably shouldn't be there, either.

I shoot at Tri-County so I have to wait until next week. More time for reloading.

I have been casting & reloading since Dec. 9th.
    Have some 38 148gr BBWC for my S&W 586,
    some .410 215gr SWC for my S&W 657,
    some .501 440gr. FNGC for my S&W 500,
and some .309 173gr. FN for my Savage Axis 30/06

anxious to see them all on paper now and I don't think I will run into much competition for bench today!

    Hope they open Tri-county soon.
    thanks again INvet71

Let us know how busy the range was.

    great time at Wilbur Wright
    arrived 11:30 am
was happily welcomed as 2nd shooter of day.
Staff on duty advised new protocol to wipe down bench & Chairs after finished. dis-infectant & paper towels provided for you.
shot about 1 1/2 hr as only one on 25 yd.
Four shooters arrived & used 50 yd. range during time I was shooting.
Did not meet them & they were shooting when I left. Very heavy rain shortly after driving home.
Was very grateful for IDNR & FWA personnel for Re-opening range after down just one day to cover benches with plastic type board that wipes down easy & going forward by keeping ranges open.
    Many thanks

Glad to hear you had a good time. Sounds like DNR as a handle on things for now.
    Thanks for the report.

so glad for your post #9
otherwise I would have been looking around for private range today!

can't thank IDNR & FWA Staff for such quick action. they really proved themselves and will make shooting ranges safe & available.

    shot very well today.
got to rest my .500 S&W
    my S&W 586
    my S&W 657
with cast bullets from Dec. & some left overs from 1999!
Rain was coming so I did not get a chance to shoot cast 173 gr. in my 30/06.

just have to go back soon

    Southside of Indy
Only been to Wilbur Wright one time a couple of years ago. It was a total mud hole. Hope it's been improved. I live on the south side of Indy and we go to Crosley F&W near North Vernon. Usually not many, if any, shooters there early on weekdays. About an hour and a half from Southport but worth the drive when I need to shoot 200 yards.
