Recently bought a beautiful Beretta 84 in near 100% condition and at a reasonable price. Have considered adding it to my carry rotation but decocking is by the 'wild west' method of pointing at a safe location and gently lowering the hammer by hand. Does anyone know if a straight parts swap from later model 84's that had a decocker/safety would reliably add that capability to this pistol? And perhaps what model would work best if its feasible (B,BB,F or FS).

Update. I contacted Beretta technical directly and they said the frames of later 84s with decocker are different as well as the parts so no can do. Don't know how to close down this thread.
