I have a 1911 lower that I purchased with a 22 lr upper on it. I have seen a 9 mm conversion kit in the Sarco ad in firearms news and wondered if would work if this lower if it had been a 45 originally? I want a 9 because my son will be using it, and I thought the experience of doing the work of installing the kit would be a good father, son project.:dunno:

Can you look up the serial to find out if it was a 45 or 9mm originally? I have a 22 kit for my 9mm 1911 and sometimes I put it on for plinking. Fun gun to shoot!

Only thing on the frame that is different between 9 and 45 would be the Ejector and slide stop. Easy conversion. as long as you get Government slide for Government frame or Commander for Commander
